26/07/2026: A little hidden gem in Carrick-on-Shannon. The cozy courtyard is a quite place to relax, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Both the cappuccino and the decaf flat white were excellent - not something you find everywhere. We also loved the freshly baked scone served with butter and jam, and the carrot cake was great. A lovely little café with a relaxed atmosphere, great coffee, and delicious homemade treats. We would happily come back and highly recommend it!

15/07/2026: We found The Olive Tree in Carrick-on-Shannon because ChatGPT recommended it as the best place for breakfast between Tullamore and Sligo, and it was absolutely right. We arrived with a group of 12, and the team could not have been more welcoming. They seated all of us together with no problem and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was outstanding, the coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and inviting. Everything was fresh, delicious, and served with a smile. If you are travelling through the area, this is well worth a stop. Fantastic food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. Five stars from all 12 of us. We will definitely be back.

The vibe here is relaxed, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. A special mention to Mr. Gabriel, who was a fantastic host. We had a great conversation about Ballinamore, the bar itself, and the World Cup, which made the visit even more memorable. He’s an absolute gem of a person and a great ambassador for local hospitality. As a traveller, experiences like this stay with you long after you’ve left. I loved the vibe of the bar and the genuine friendliness that made me feel right at home. If you’re passing through Ballinamore, Prios Sports Bar is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended! 🍻
