The Olive Tree in Carrick-on-shannon

A little hidden gem in Carrick-on-Shannon. The cozy courtyard is a quite place to relax, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Both the cappuccino and the decaf flat white were excellent - not something you find everywhere. We also loved the freshly baked scone served with butter and jam, and the carrot cake was great. A lovely little café with a relaxed atmosphere, great coffee, and delicious homemade treats. We would happily come back and highly recommend it!

We found The Olive Tree in Carrick-on-Shannon because ChatGPT recommended it as the best place for breakfast between Tullamore and Sligo, and it was absolutely right. We arrived with a group of 12, and the team could not have been more welcoming. They seated all of us together with no problem and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was outstanding, the coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and inviting. Everything was fresh, delicious, and served with a smile. If you are travelling through the area, this is well worth a stop. Fantastic food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. Five stars from all 12 of us. We will definitely be back.

Lovely little cafe. The menu is simple but very VERY tasty food with high quality ingredients! Staff are lovely. Best vegetarian sandwich I’ve had in a good while.

John & Laura were absolute fantastic hosts. We’ve travelled all over Ireland for 2 weeks, the soda bread here was easily the best we’ve ever had. The chipotle wrap was lovely and very filling as was the toastie and homemade soup And that biscoff cheesecake will live long on my memory, spectacular
