Hotel was really good! Comfy rooms and great location.
Dinning (breakfast) experience was pretty bad. We ordered Avocado toast and the avocado smelled really bad.
I noticed one of the servers drop a knife and then instead of picking it up, he kicked the knife with his shoes on. That's disgusting.

Very friendly welcome from all the staff. The decor downstairs looked clean with a slight country feel to it. The resturant was stylish with a slight 1920s decor to it which I thought was fab and the young girl and chap weighting on everyone the first evening were extremely helpful and though young, did a great job! My only negative view was the breakfast we had both mornings was that our poached eggs were hard (personally I like soft poached) but generally the breakfast tasty.
Our first room was ok, we went for a sea view room though I will say the pic online doesn't represent the room we had, very generic and not much character (no pics on the wall) and looked abit tired but clean and for us it was fine as we were riding around the ring of kerry. The beds were comfy and it had a tv & hairdryer. Though the next morning when using the shower we realised water was pouring out the plastic shower knob, causing it to leak downstairs. The staff we extremely helpful though and didn't hesitate to upgrade us to a beautiful suite with a sea view, we really weren't expecting that but really appreciated it. Our stay here was a little bit mixed but massive applause to the staff, they are an absolute credit to the hotel, very polite, helpful and friendly. Any problem or enquiry they were always more than happy to help. I think maybe who ever is incharge of funding could do with upgrading the bog standard sea view rooms to match everything else. There isn't alot in Waterville but that isn't to say it isn't pretty, the views are amazing and there is a shop behind the hotel with pretty much everything including takeaway. There is also a couple of pubs and a pharmacy if needed. Thank you for our stay.

Dated, but nice. Right across from the beach. Small town with not a lot of options.

Liked our stay at this hotel for sure. Family room so spacious (biggest we have stayed in) with access to a little lawn outside and chairs. Staff very friendly.
Big snooker table there and very clean. Central location
Food in restaurant was fine. For a hotel it was ok. Would have liked a nicer vegetarian option. They did a pasta dish on request which was nice of them. My husband got Chicken supreme and it was like a nice.
Would stay here again.

A really beautiful hotel in the old style, we had a very large, beautiful room with a luxury bathroom, the restaurant was unfortunately a bit stuck in the old style and therefore had nothing for us vegetarians, but the barmaid was very friendly. We slept well and received a friendly welcome, I would come again.

The Butler Arms is the perfect combination of old world charm and elegance with modern fixtures, furnishings, and food! We stayed there for two nights in a suite that overlooked the bay. Originally we had booked only one night, but soon after seeing the room and the view, we had to book another. We were treated like old friends from the pleasant staff. Thank you to specifically Javier at reception who was amazing—even on his first day! Breakfast was included and incredible—much more elevated than the “full Irish” you may find at other places. Go, spend a little extra and book the suite. You won’t regret it.
