Cafe du Journal in Dublin

Came here on Saturday Morning around 11am. It was chaotic, people skipping queue bumping into each other. No one to greet you or let you know where to sit. Got a seat at the window which was a right squeeze. Had to go up after 5mina to ask for a menu for food, waited for a waiter to come to take my order which didn’t happy so had to order at the till which was a mess. Food took about 20mins to arrive. No cutlery or sugar for coffee or butter for toast. Went back up to the till and waited 5 mins for some to ask what was wrong. Staff seem to be all over the place not remembering what people ordered, table numbers or what has gone out to people. Food was ok, rashers were burnt. Ordered a caramel ice latte ( see photo). Price is good but service could be better!

The coffee here is nice, the toasties are good but could be better, and the atmosphere is quite pleasant. The customer service is good as well.

Went here with my partner and he order fish pie for lunch and i try its delicious I order only tea and chips . Staff are friendly and place is okey

Lovely coffee, great staff and the baby changing facilities in the toilets are hugely appreciated. Stumbled in here this morning as it was the only place open on Stephen’s day. Had a lovely morning, and the kids were chuffed when they were given free gingerbread men! Can’t compliment the place enough.

Well, we went there as a last resort because we planned to go somewhere else for a coffee, and my god we were surprised. The place is really great, coffee is fantastic (I had mocha) and their chocolate cheese cake is out of this world. I will be back there again.

It’s really great. Coffee and food are good. Outdoor seating is great to have on a sunny day. Staff are very helpful. Also note that you can get swimming accessories here, for example beach mats and towels and robes, these are very useful and good quality.
