Lovely spot for early breakfast!

The atmosphere is very cozy inside, feels very welcoming, the attention is great and the food is made with love. Great place for breakfasts and enjoying a coffee with friends.

I took the wrong bus, and when I got off, before waiting for the right one, I decided to step into this café, which is not only very cute but also has the best cake I've ever had in Dublin. I will have to take the wrong buss again and try the other cake flavors :) Edit: also, the staff were lovely!

Love the early morning omelette with coffee.

We went to grab breakfast on Sunday morning, it was busy and staff did their best to accommodate their customers. It is a beautiful cafe and a good place for breakfast.

Really enjoyed are family meal. The staff were really friendly and chatty. The food was great value and tasty. I would recommend it.

Overall, my experience at Cafe du Journal was okay, but I wouldn't particularly recommend it. The food was decent, and the coffee was good. The atmosphere was bustling, which I enjoyed. However, the service was just okay - it felt disorganised. We had to ask multiple times for parts of our order, and tables were not cleared promptly or cleaned despite there being several servers. If you're in the area and looking for a quick bite or a coffee, it's an okay option, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

They opened a tad early and we were some of their first customers this morning. The croissants were fresh out of the oven and delicious! I ordered a strong cappuccino and it was made to perfection. I also got the Oreo Brookie (choc chip cookie base, layered Oreo cookies over the top and a brownie over that - wild yum!). Very welcoming atmosphere! We also got to meet Sandra the pup - I’m guessing the owner’s friend’s pup.
