Cafe du Journal in Dublin

Went in for lunch with my twins and partner and the staff couldn't be more helpful with accommodating us. Food was lovely and the owner, I assume, gave the kids toys to play with while we were there as we forgot ours. 100% recommend.

Food was just ok, didn't eat the pancakes they were really poor, service was excellent.

All good except by 4pm on a Sunday mainy food menu items were sold out. Coffee was good.

Popped in for breakfast on a rainy day and had a lovely time. The cafe itself is very cute and has good options for seating. I opted for the mini Irish breakfast and was pleasantly surprised at how much it filled me up. The staff was kind and attentive.

This is a lovely, bright, and inviting cafe in Monkstown. Stopped in for lunch and had tea and the fish soup and it was incredible! Quite possibly the best I have ever had. The sourdough bread was perfect too.

Love the early morning breakfast with coffee.

Nice place for coffee, cake and light refreshments. Some clothing if into sea swimming on sale.

Came here on Saturday Morning around 11am. It was chaotic, people skipping queue bumping into each other. No one to greet you or let you know where to sit. Got a seat at the window which was a right squeeze. Had to go up after 5mins to ask for a menu for food, waited for a waiter to come to take my order which didn’t happen so had to order at the till which was a mess. Staff ignored me too busy chatting with each other. Food took about 20mins to arrive. No cutlery or sugar for coffee or butter for toast. Went back up to the till and waited 5 mins for some to be ask whats wrong and felt I was in trouble. Staff seem to be all over the place not remembering what people ordered, table numbers or what food has gone out to people. Food was ok, rashers were burnt. Ordered a caramel ice latte ( see photo). Price is good but service could be better! Be prepared to wait and not be in a rush!
