Cafe Mexicana in Cork

Great prices and atmosphere, friendly staff, and amazing food!

Beautiful atmosphere inside, small bit really cozy and characteristic. The food really tastes like Mexico and the variety of dishes includes any special of the Mexican cuisine such as Tacos, Burritos and Chimichangas. Good selection of Mexican beers too! Really recommended!

We went yesterday and honestly, this was one of the best food experiences I’ve had in Cork so far. I’m a Greek expat, and coming from Athens, where we have quite a few Mexican restaurants, I didn’t expect to find something this good in a smaller city like Cork. But this place genuinely surprised me. The quality of the ingredients, the flavours, the freshness, everything felt premium and carefully made. It actually made me realise that what I had been eating before was not really proper Mexican food. For me, this is probably the best restaurant I’ve tried in Cork so far. Huge kudos to the people running it. Please keep the quality this high, because we are definitely coming back.

Food was so delicious! We ordered dynamite nachos : they were just a firyyy just like we wanted! Also ordered pollo adobado - it was very nice, though the portion size was small compared to price. Churros were crispy ! Had grandma cake: it was sort of tiramisu type. Will definitely visit again!

Had the Mole, a Horchata Cocktail and desert. The combination of all 3 cured my depression. Will return.

This restaurant boasts stunning decor, where every detail has been carefully considered and the ambiance has a distinctly Mexican feel. I'm vegetarian and found several options. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly.

The food was absolutely delicious! We had the nachos and a pork chimichana. It was fantastic!

There were four of us French people looking for a good value restaurant in Cork at 8:30 pm... After being turned away from pubs and other restaurants, we stumbled upon Café Mexicana. What a pleasant surprise! Everything was perfect: the welcome, the service, the warm atmosphere, and the excellent food! Homemade dishes, and what can I say about the homemade desserts? We didn't know what to choose... A special mention goes to the Banana Bailey's with its warm homemade chocolate sauce and three scoops of vanilla ice cream. A dessert like that in France would cost over 10 euros! Thank you, we'll definitely be back!
