Cafe Mexicana in Cork

I've been a patron of this establishment for 24 years and it has never disappointed me by far one of the best restaurants in Ireland, with amazing atmosphere and amazing food 👌

The food is just okay. Not bad, not great. The Nachos appetizer was okay and the Nachos tasted like generic, store bought Nacho chips. The spare ribs were also just okay. The Taco dinner was average and the fajitas were also very average. The service was friendly but slow and the atmosphere is small but nice.

Beautiful atmosphere inside, small bit really cozy and characteristic. The food really tastes like Mexico and the variety of dishes includes any special of the Mexican cuisine such as Tacos, Burritos and Chimichangas. Good selection of Mexican beers too! Really recommended!

We went yesterday and honestly, this was one of the best food experiences I’ve had in Cork so far. I’m a Greek expat, and coming from Athens, where we have quite a few Mexican restaurants, I didn’t expect to find something this good in a smaller city like Cork. But this place genuinely surprised me. The quality of the ingredients, the flavours, the freshness, everything felt premium and carefully made. It actually made me realise that what I had been eating before was not really proper Mexican food. For me, this is probably the best restaurant I’ve tried in Cork so far. Huge kudos to the people running it. Please keep the quality this high, because we are definitely coming back.

Food was so delicious! We ordered dynamite nachos : they were just a firyyy just like we wanted! Also ordered pollo adobado - it was very nice, though the portion size was small compared to price. Churros were crispy ! Had grandma cake: it was sort of tiramisu type. Will definitely visit again!

Had the Mole, a Horchata Cocktail and desert. The combination of all 3 cured my depression. Will return.
