Canal Bank Cafe in Dublin

We chose this restaurant mainly because it was near our hotel. And what a fortuitous choice. This was one of the best meals that we had in Ireland! The atmosphere is a cozy, local bistro. The food was truly excellent. Even my cocktail was surprisingly well executed. By luck, we ended up having a great experience. This place does seem quite popular - deservedly so -- because it was very busy with what seemed to be a local crowd that is already in-the-know about what a special place this is.

I like Canal. The service was excellent (always liked a little chitchat and a warm welcome) and the food pleasantly surprised me. I ordered fish and chips and oh boy - it was an enormous piece (palm sized!) of delicious, well cooked and tasty fish! But the best part were the peas on the side - I don’t know what they did, but these were stunning: well seasoned and delicious. The interior looks like a bit like a fancy dinner place (and maybe it is), but to me it felt a bit off. The beers, fish and chips and the overall vibe of the cafe does not match with this presentation, but that is probably just me. Enjoyed my visit and will be happy to stop by again, should I be in the area!

Thai-style fried chicken wings and drumsticks! Very tasty and spicy! Nice atmosphere, clean bathrooms!

This restaurant is really nice and cosy, though small, it feels very welcoming and confortable. We felt well taken care of from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely great (great flavours, big portions for my pasta!), as well as the cocktail! Highly recommend this charming spot for a delightful meal!

Great fry up before a game at the Aviva. They were really friendly and quick.

I walked past this beautiful café in Dublin, Ireland earlier this week and knew I had to check it out. The experience was fantastic: the food was delicious, and the service and atmosphere were excellent.

Conocí a mi compañero para almorzar. Las instalaciones, el personal y el servicio eran excelentes. Mi ensalada de fajita de pollo era muy agradable, pero tal vez tenía "demasiado" y era un poco caro para lo que era. Mi compañera tenía la pasta que le pareció decepcionante, parecía pasta penne con un poco de pesto verde, de nuevo sobreprecio por lo que es. Finalmente, la omnipresente "opción de propina" al pagar con tarjeta no es bienvenida en absoluto, ya que se siente como un poco de presión social para separarse de más dinero. Esto está entrando por todas partes.
