Carne Golf Course Restaurant & Bar in Belmullet

Truly one of the world's best golf courses. Played it in late August, and I can't stop thinking about it. Such a special place, from the minute you pull down the road leading past the graveyard to the clubhouse. The people of Belmullet should be proud of what they have built. Thank you so much for your hospitality and warm welcome.

Lovely golf course great shape fast greens just needs more signage we went wrong a couple of times otherwise very welcoming great club house serving great food.

Lovely there quite and peaceful

This golf course is located in the rugged sand dunes along the coast of Belmullet, a remote town in northwestern Ireland. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to play this time, but thanks to the kindness of the B&B staff, I had the opportunity to tour the course in a cart, led by a young man from the shop. I learned that the course is laid out within the natural topography of the sand dunes, without altering their shape. The rugged sand dunes and the Atlantic beach with its crashing waves were spectacular, and I would love to revisit and play there if I have the chance.

Great kept green, beautiful views, and good food at the clubhouse, if you’re willing to make the drive up, this is the best value golf for a course in Ireland

I am lucky to have been played a lot of courses in both Ireland and Scotland and Carne is one of the best. Great golf, every hole is true to links golf and feels unique. 3 nines here all three are top notch. It is all about the golf here no pretense just golf as it was meant to be. All this even though my putting was pitiful.

I have waited a long time to play this course. It is quite a challenge and when playing into the wind is potentially too difficult for the novice golfer. Decent variety of holes, if i could be critical, some of the tee boxes are a bit untidy and there is a lack of signage showing you the way to the next tee on the back 9 especially. Had a pre golf sandwich and coffee, the girls serving were great and the lounge was nice, however locker room was really tired. It was a long drive from Westport, (our base), and somehow we all left a little disappointed.

Special place. Remote, relaxed and raw.

From arrival to finish, the hospitality and experience was superb. What a wonderful time in between the dunes.

Scenery and course design is second to none we had the misfortune to play it when the greens were sanded and poleforked which made the greens slow and bobbly but other than that amazing
