We are in Ireland for a couple weeks and have eaten at 2 of the finest hotels on the island but they pale in comparison to the authentic local fare served here at Carney’s. The seafood chowder was exactly what I had hoped for on this cold and rainy evening and was served piping hot with a side of delicious mashed potato. My wife had the Vol au Vents and it was hearty and delicious as well. All served and the Guinness poured perfectly by Katrina who was an superb host and she cheerfully provided local information and was very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend.
By luck we picked Carney's for dinner. We are glad we did ! We felt welcomed the second we stepped through the door. We had Duck, Ceasar salad, vegetable soup and a Goat Cheese Tart. Oh, and the wonderful brown bread. It was all wonderful made only better by exceptional service and friendlycustomers. If we ever are near again we will be back.
Last minute decision to head out for food as a group of (5 adults and toddler ) and the staff managed to fit us in on a busy summers evening. Really nice atmosphere inside with a lovely crowd of locals and tourist . Kitchen stayed up a little later to accommodate us and the food was fantastic all round considering our poor time keeping. Nice Guinness , super staff , clean and tasty food. The type of business I want to see doing well in Irish towns. Many thanks and keep up the good work .
Food was extremely good and reasonably priced. My husband said the steak was perfectly cooked. Lovely lad working here was chatting away. Would definitely return if in ballinrobe again
