Love this place so much. Quiet and beautiful. Perfect place if you need to get away and rest.

Excellent destination. Beautifully appointed and professional staff. Stayed two nights. The room was a fair walk away from the reception but it gave one an appetite. The showers were small and the water had no power, just gravity! Breakfast and dinner in the Kathleen room was very tasty and satisfying. The Carton Carriage for dinner had fantastic starters like the chowder. But the Sirloin steak was too fatty and chips were so salty. My feedback to the waitress in the carriage house-received only an apology and it ended there. 5* starter, 1* main course and service was hit and miss due to lack of observation. I’d come back again but I’d be more aware of what I’m ordering.

Anna in the restaurant and the concierge Brian were very courteous and efficient. The reservations team was also very helpful at check in. Pool and spa facilities were wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the walks around this beautiful property. Casual dinner at Carriag House was delicious and set in an elegant, hunt club type atmosphere. All around wonderful place to stay - will be back.

Phenomenal hotel, in a beautiful location, steeped in rich history. I attended a conference here and it was absolutely fantastic. The food, the drink, and the service were second to none. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast and the guiness! Would recommend!

Very nice hotel with 2 18-hole golf courses

I’m not sure what this hotel / golf club / wedding venue is trying to be, but I won’t risk it in the future. Sleep - 4/10 Great mattress but issue is noise from the hall. Spa 6/10 - there’s a pool etc but not super elegant. Food 6/10 - Kathleen’s kitchen is ok at best. Ambience - 5/10 not fitting of a fine estate comparing to other 5 star hotels. Grounds 6/10 not really great due to a commercial Golf event. External parties. Restaurants, Grounds and Spa are a little overrun with externals. Staff 8/10 Booking process 10/10 First function of a hotel is mainly to sleep. The doors are not sound proof and one can hear people passing and talking all through the night. The entrance is a bit messy, also super loud with huge sound coming from the bar when not super packed. Hotel is based mainly in the modern part. This hotel feels like the main business is commercial ( weddings and Golf) not actual rooms and guests. When you book you think old and elegant, when you get here my first thought was a shopping centre / Airport restaurant.

Fabulous property. There is only positive feedback for Carlton house. Staff are flawless & available to assist with anything. Food from all outlets was delicious with a lot of choices. This is a must stay
