Cava Bodega in Galway

I had a wonderful birthday dinner on Monday , Jan 6th . It just happened to be the Spanish celebration of the 12 Kings ( Spanish Christmas ) which I have celebrated before in Spain . But I truly felt I was in Spain on this occasion with the ambiance and good vibes. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and when I mentioned it was my birthday they kindly offered me a complimentary glass of cava - a lovely touch ! The wine list was impressive also. The menus were explained clearly, the service was superb and the atmosphere was joyous. A truly memorable evening . I look forward to going back and highly recommend it !! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🍷🍷🍷🧀🧀🥘🥘🇪🇸🇪🇸

I love Cava but my last visit before Christmas was really disappointing, the goats cheese croquettes were tiny, they have definitely shrank in portion size. We also got the lamb tapa but the lamb was almost non existent, more mushroom than lamb and that was €18, it had a strong cheese taste and was just bad value. My Christmas visitor was really not impressed and I thought this would be a food highlight for the holiday. The salt cod tapa and pork confit were tasty. We found it very loud downstairs too but acknowledge not much can be done about that.

The place is bigger than it looks as the ground floor has only like 5 small tables. However, their downstairs has a full dining floor of seating. It is dimly lit but not terribly loud that we could hear each other. We were seated right near the kitchen so it was fun seeing the food being prepared and sent out to the tables. Ranked from most liked to least liked: Leeks with hazelnuts: The charred leeks tasted great in the sauce. The bite had variety in texture from the toasted caramelized nuts. Churros: the churros were freshly fried with a nice crunch to the exterior and a dark chocolate dipping sauce (more cocoa flavor, less sweet). There was also honeycomb pieces (crunchy, sweet) and small bits of fruit. Burger: The mini burger was juicy and had a delicious jam that complemented the bite well. I wasn't a huge fan of the bun though, almost too dry. Octopus: The octopus was cooked to absolute perfection—very tender to taste and the sauce clung to each bite. The dish ratio is more potato than octopus, and the potato slices were very bland. Ham croquettes: while it was flavorful, I would have opted for a different dish. It didn't stand out much. The service was attentative throughout our dining. The food came out quickly but also timed with enough time to enjoy the food before the next one came out.

A really lovely Spanish Tapas in the heart of Galway. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and exquisite food.

We got a recommendation to go to this place. So we booked it. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff. The service was great and the staff were very friendly. The food was a bit disappointing. It was OK and could have been better. There didn't seem to be many flavours in it. We still ate it. The presentation was nice.

Great food, our server was a bit preoccupied with something else. It was a Tuesday maybe he had other plans that night. Anyway the food was fantastic,the room was great but you can tell it's missing that latin authentic flair. Again it was a Tuesday. Will def be back.. at the weekend:)

Debe ser una de las mejores comidas que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo. Nuestro gerente de NPD recomendó Cava Bodega y luego cuando estaba charlando con el hotel antes de llegar el miembro del personal también habló muy bien de ello. Y no decepcionaste. Amplia selección de menús. Comida deliciosa con mucho cuidado re mi GF necesita, el personal amable y servicial, pero con un poco de craic. Ambiente sin duda un poco de España en Galway. Buzz pero relajante y no intrusivo. Cerveza Doura GF añadido a mi noche - sabroso! No demasiado caro y buenos tamaños de porción para el precio. Muchas gracias Ronan por recomendar y muchas gracias Cava Bodega por una gran noche para recordar. En particular gracias a Anita que nos cuidó y nuestras necesidades de menú. Qué súper persona.

Sfeervol restaurant, bediening over het algemeen heel vriendelijk en attent. Tapas erg lekker, geen heel grote porties maar prijs-kwaliteit was goed in balans. Aanrader als je in Galway tapas wilt eten!
