Really lovely food, incredibly prepared variety of fish, and a cozy warm atmosphere. The service was top call, Noel was really fantastic, friendly and extremely knowledgeable on everything on the menu and behind the bar. Great experience overall!

Amazing food! The menu is quite limited but the quality of the dishes is off the scale! Very generous portionsn of the freshest fish you will find anywhere, cooked to perfection. Deserts were also fantastic and the staff couldn't have been more helpful with explaining each dish in detail and with accomodating dietary requirements. A visit to Oscar's is one of the highlights of a trip to Galway!

Highly recommend Oscars!! Well worth the walk if you’re staying on the other side of town. We had hands down the best sea bass of our lives and thoroughly enjoyed the cozy calm atmosphere and good music. 10/10, truly loved our experience!

I had a wonderful experience at Oscar’s Seafood Bistro. The food is not only delicious but also feels genuinely healthy, with fresh ingredients and well-balanced side dishes that complement each plate without being heavy. You can really taste the care in how everything is prepared. The Connemara oysters are a highlight — incredibly fresh, delicate, and full of flavor, clearly sourced with respect for local producers. It’s evident that the restaurant values and supports local businesses and regional ingredients, which makes the dining experience even more special. The service is outstanding: warm, attentive, and professional without being intrusive. Every dish arrives beautifully presented, served hot, and bursting with flavor. You can tell the kitchen pays attention to timing and detail. Oscar’s is the kind of place where quality, freshness, and hospitality come together. A true gem in Galway for anyone who appreciates great seafood, thoughtful sourcing, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Taaffes

08/06/2026: Fabulous afternoon here with live music 🎶
04/06/2026: Came in for a few pints and some live music on a Weds evening. The duo performing was excellent mixing some classic Irish folk songs with covers of some contemporary music. Pints were cold and served quickly.

The Kings Head

26/05/2026: The drinks are great and great craic at night. However, my husband and I stopped here for dinner one night when looking for seafood and couldn’t get in to the upscale seafood place nearby. 45 minute wait for 2 people at 7:30pm on a Monday-would highly recommended the salted caramel espresso martini-amazing! We ordered the seafood platter and scallops. The oysters had pieces of shell in them and tasted of pure salt water-I love oysters but these were just not that great. The scallops were slightly overcooked as well. I would avoid this place for seafood and stick with drinks and possibly traditional food only.
25/05/2026: Another fantastic pub. Traditional, quaint, rustic, and great. Excellent beer selection, good food, and a cozy atmosphere. The pub has two floors and is huge. The staff is great, and you can meet friendly people there relatively quickly.
