McSwiggans in Galway

Having traveled to several countries in Europe the past year, this was my families favorite steak restaurant! The quality and flavor of the steak was excellent, my brother and I shared the cote de boeuf(larger ribeye) & my parents got the filet mignon, both amazing, together with the sauces and sides was very lovely, a wonderful experience.

Booked a table for two on the 28th March and had a fantastic meal cooked to perfection. Service from Lucia and the waiting staff was fabulous. The manager came over and made us feel very welcome. I couldn't recommend Mc Swiggans highly enough. I can't wait to go back.

We arrived in Galway for St. Patrick Day weekend and had a wonderful first afternoon walking the town. While we're not rookie travelers, we were still surprised that every 4+ star restaurant on High Street / Latin Quarter (the adjacent street too!) were all reserved weeks ahead. We decided to walk towards our bed and breakfast, in the hopes of finding a place that had tables available. What a stroke of luck that we stopped at Mc Swiggans Steak and Seafood Restaurant. Not only was the food top notch, but our server, Dermot, was outstanding. And what a visually appealing restaurant. Multiple levels, bars seemingly everywhere and, you guessed it, a tree in the center! A designers paradise! We decided to have two appetizers, the seafood chowder and the smoked salmon with pickled onion on brown bread. Both were so good we should've ordered double sized! We shared a truly delicious 10 oz. sirloin with Irish chimichuri sauce, pureed carrots and mashed potatoes. Wow! If you're in Galway, you can't go wrong with dining at McSwiggans. Just a 1/4 mile off the Latin Quarter, its well worth the walk. Enjoy!

Went to McSwiggans for our mother’s birthday, Everything from start to finish was top class, Server was very attentive..Checking in with us throughout our meal. The food was the absolutely perfect…everyone loved all three courses. Definitely will be back 10/10
