Charlie's West End Cafe in Ardara

We've already eaten here twice. They have homemade food and vegetable soup every day, very good. The staff are very friendly. The prices are reasonable.

Best fish and chips I've ever had

Amazing, we came here randomly. Generous portions, the taste is here, but the warmness of the people working here is on top of everything. Come here, you will not regret it!

It’s not a real vacation unless we’ve had at least one meal (usually several!) at Charlie’s. The food? Absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and always hits the spot. The portions are generous (no one leaves hungry!), the cakes are homemade and heavenly, and the coffee? Strong and perfect – just what you need after a Donegal walk or drive. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and the staff makes you feel like family – always smiling, helpful, and up for a friendly chat. Charlie's is more than just a cafe – it's a place with heart. Whether you're a local, a tourist from abroad, or a regular like us, you’ll feel right at home. We recommend it 100%! If you're in or near Ardara and you haven't been to Charlie's... you're seriously missing out!

The right place for a traditional breakfast

First customers in on a Thursday morning. No idea what to expect, and the owner welcomed us warmly. We ordered the Charlie's breakfast that had great sausage, ham and "white pudding" along with beans and an egg. Unusual breakfast for an American but delicious. Good coffee, too. The lady chef came out to ask us how everything tasted and we both expressed our pleasure. Family friendly atmosphere. All the customers and staff knew each other. Special place.

Called in on passing. Ordered a fish supper, fish was fantastic, chips were great, and customer service exceptional definitely worth a visit for anyone in that direction. If Carlsberg made fish suppers, this was probably the best fish supper in the world!
