Chez Max in Dublin

We went back and it was superb again. We were outside, heaters kept us warm as did tye mulled wine, and the atmosphere was festive. Love this place and strongly recommend it. We were tucked into the only outdoor space they had, but it was cute and the atmosphere was great. Their food is terrific. Especially their pate, and their dessert platter. Wow. Only issue was that they ran out of the wine we were drinking, but I think that was our fault, not theirs. We were making up for the lost time during Covid. We will be back!!!!

Possibly the nicest restaurant I have eaten at in Dublin City in a long time, passed by this place so many times over the years and never had the opportunity to eat there until last night. Great value Set Dinner menu with plenty of choice, excellent portion sizes and the flavours were perfectly balanced, excellent wine selection, and amazing attentive staff. Such a cosy and welcoming atmosphere too even on the heated terrace I think this just added to our experience Cannot wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.

It's basically a cafe next to the entrance to the Dublin Castle grounds. Place with a cute covered terrace, pleasant and friendly service from the waitresses. Online prices for the entire city.

On our last night in Dublin, we had dinner at this spot. French cuisine was our choice for a final meal and Chez Max was the perfect spot. We had a delicious meal al fresco watching as the crowd past by. In all, the ambience brought us back to La Cite. A great way to wrap up our first visit. We shall return.

Venue and menu could easily be on a Parisian street corner. Light (ish) lunch wanted so I went for the ‘formule’… dish of the day (today a Toulouse sausage, mash, stem broccoli and a delicious sauce) plus a small glass of red and a good coffee for under 20 euro. OK, I admit it… I also had a very good and decent sized creme brulee… well worth ordering. Efficient and friendly service… nothing much wrong here
