Christy's in Arklow

I’ve been to Christy’s a few times and really like the atmosphere—especially after the recent updates. But still finding its foot with the food. The indoor seating is much more comfortable now, and the beer garden looks lovely. It’s a great spot to bring friends or the kids. That said, as someone who really appreciates good food, I feel the kitchen still needs some refinement. The nachos questionable quality tortillas, and the mince and red sauce just didn’t taste good. The bruschetta also strayed too far from the classic—green peppers and onions didn’t quite deliver. I say this with kindness: the place has real potential, and I hope the food soon matches the great setting.

Large modern bar with a entrance from road and from the river. Just called in for couple drinks sitting at bar finished first after waiting 15 minutes trying to get another drink from one of the 7 staff just to be told to wait from one staff and another said they had an order and we where to wait still nothing so walk out. Only around 14 people in around the bar area.

Under new management now and they have really turned the place around. There is people coming from near a far every weekend. Well ran and would highly recommend 👌

Fantastic Fillet Steak cooked to perfection by head chef Dio, Fish & Chips also excellent, light batter and fresh white fish. Bar and table service superb.

Nice sized nite club, decent sound system n lights, had alot of fun DJing here on the 28th march, the Guinness was good and the staff were very polite

Update: Christy's has new owners who have completely revamped the entire property. I enjoyed it before, but it is now next-level. Everything is new and modernised. The chef is highly rated and the food is, to be honest, the nicest food that we have experienced so far in Ireland (we have been eating-out 3 times per week (at least) for 4 years around Ireland). So, the food is great, the staff is great, parking is plentiful and the venue is clean and modern. There is a huge covered beer garned at the back and a brand new disco upstairs. Well done to Laine and John and their staff. Dave is still awesome. I was so pleasantly surprised. When you enter the door, it's a whole new world. The staff are friendly, the vibe is upbeat, the food is great, and the setting is modern. The ladies who helped us were all efficient and knew their product. "Dave" was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Thanks to the owner for placing such a nice place in Arklow and thanks to the staff for great food and a friendly vibe. We will be back. We had dinner here over the weekend for my mams birthday. It may look small from the outside, but it's quite a big business. It has a bar and restaurant area. It's a nicely lit and decorated restaurant. There are plenty of food options for vegetarians and those who are gluten-free. I highly recommend their soup of the day and the house curry. Excellent value for money and great portion sizes. The staff were under pressure that day as it was busy, so I didn't get my starter until it was time for the main course. That aside, great quality of food, very clean and friendly staff. I give them a 4.5/5.

I was there yesterday on Sunday about 3 pm , lovely atmosphere and a nice little friendly crowd in there , I was there with my mother who has severe anxiety so I was worried about taking her in there but she was immediately at ease there was a lovely bar woman in there to thank for that , greeted us so kindly , offered us to sit wherever we liked and asked my mother if she wanted to watch anything on the tv , she also was joking around with the other groups sitting around the bar which gave the place a great vibe full of laughter , rare to see as usually when me and mam are out it’s very hostile in pubs and she panics and wants to go home…me and mam will definitely be back again !!:)
