The Cliffs of Moher… what can I say, a true marvel. We were lucky enough to visit them on a spectacular day, even more so in the middle of January 🍀. They also have a very comprehensive visitor center, with a great souvenir shop, a café, and exhibitions.

We were lucky. January, lots of wind, but sunshine. And no tourists! A lucky coincidence, we enjoyed it. But the scenery is simply breathtaking!

The Cliffs of Moher is a real beauty to behold. When birds fly at the edges of the cliff, it reminded me of how the dragons flew through big rocks in avatar or in how to train your dragons😇 Cliffs of Moher has one of the major colonies of cliff nesting sea birds in Ireland. It’s really wonderful to watch them fly around the cliffs. The Cliffs of Moher are full of Irish folklore, adding a mystical allure to their natural beauty. One is that of Mal, a witch who fell in love with Cú Chulainn, legendary Irish demigod. After he rejected her, she chased him around Ireland, ultimately falling to her death at the Southern end of the cliffs, Hag’s head. The cliff trail was closed when we visited. Nevertheless, it was beautiful. The sky was clear and there was a rainbow on the day we visited, which added to the beauty. You can climb up the Ó Brien’s tower which is a local limestone tower. The visitor centre also has an amazing story behind it. It was designed to blend seamlessly with the landscape, making it almost invisible from the skiffs themselves.

It's a beautiful site and one of the highest cliffs to see. More importantly for the Harry Potter Fans it's a real life experience of the place where Voldemort sorta started his journey of torturing muggles Best time to visit would depend on what you want. In winters: No hassle and less crowded but need good weather to enjoy. In summer: becomes a lot crowded but on plus side you can enjoy the Atlantic Ocean tours and go up to the cave where Dumbledore takes Harry Potter
