COCOA in Cork

A hidden treasure in the city to grab a cup of coffee with a friend. Nestled in amongst the small shops at Winthrop arcade, Cocoa is a fantastic independent coffee shop to support in a Cork City.

Always meant to visit this café and safe to say it will be the first and last. The café is cramped, tables outside but it's shared with another popular café and it's within a narrow hallway so it's not appealing. Café has an upcharge for dairy alternatives/plant drinks, predatory to those with dietary sensitivities. No toilet facilities on site. They claim their hot chocolates are made with 'real chocolate' but it was powdered chocolate. Gritty after taste and it was nothing special, for the price point we were expecting more. Tables were dirty, with some patrons clearing tables to get a table to sit at. Service staff were busy and were kind enough to bring out our beverages outside the shop as there isn't sufficient space to wait inside.

Me detuve en este pequeño lugar escondido de café y chocolate después de haber comido una tarta de salmón que he comprado en el mercado inglés. Así que era para mí solo el postre y el café al final de mi almuerzo. Tenía el brownie que era excelente y el café expreso realmente muy bien hecho y sabroso (soy italiano, así que sé mi café expreso y cómo se debe hacer y esto era simplemente perfecto). Sin duda recomendable. El servicio fue impresionante y la chica en el bar, incluso me trajo un poco de crema en el lado. No soy aficionada a la crema en general, pero esta era muy buena y no pesaba nada. Si también necesitas parar para usar el baño tienen uno arriba para la galería que estaba limpia y ordenada. En el corazón de Cork, sin duda un lugar para parar otras veces si lo hubiera hecho. Sólo estuve allí un día. Y obrigada a la chica rubia del bar: realmente el mejor servicio al cliente de la historia. Bien hecho!
