Phenomenal traditional Irish music, amazing atmosphere!

Go there every Saturday afternoon. It’s a lovely pub but some staff don’t pull the Guinness properly they don’t let it settle. Some of the staff don’t take notice off people waiting to be served. Was talking with a gentleman who is mature standing at the bar had my credit card in my hand waving for attention but everyone after me got served 1st, asked the young fella behind the bar is anyone serving I’ve been waiting 10 minutes & he explained he didn’t notice me. The counter space was empty. We like the bar so we will come back.

George, the Serbian bouncer at JJ Walsh in Cork is hands down one of the best I’ve ever come across. I see him often when I’m at the pub, and every time, he goes above and beyond to create a welcoming and safe atmosphere. George is incredibly professional, always greeting people with a smile and treating everyone with respect. He’s approachable and friendly, which instantly puts you at ease, but you can also see that he takes his responsibilities seriously, ensuring the pub is a safe and enjoyable place for everyone. What makes George stand out is his consistent kindness and positive energy. He remembers regulars and takes the time to say hello, which makes JJ Walsh feel like more than just a pub—it feels like a community. JJ Walsh is lucky to have someone like George representing them. It’s people like him who make nights out extra special. Huge thanks, George—you’re a legend!

Great pub, great music but genuinely the worst smelling and unclean bathroom I have ever experienced.

I like the vibe of this place, very much. It's relaxing and sometimes it has live music, it's simply one of my favourite pubs in Cork, and I always go there from time to time.

We spent a wonderful evening here with live music. If you want to have some fun, you can watch the doors marked “Staff only” and the hustle and bustle - with good beer and really good music.
