We had a birthday dinner in the Lounge in Cookes. It was just a lovely experience. There were ten of us, including two small children. The booking process over the phone was smooth, and our table was ready for us when we arrived. There was a tv on without sound but when I asked they switched it off straight away.
We ordered starters, mains and desserts. Our servers were lovely and efficient, and had a few jokes with our group!
We were impressed with the portion sizes. The smoked salmon starter was really good - interesting fried capers were very tasty, and the brown bread was soft and tasty. Fried hake was light and crispy. Chicken wellington was very filling and comfort food style, and the Eton mess for dessert was a great combination of fresh berries and coulis along with a lovely meringue. All in all a lovely visit.
We tried this for the first time for lunch on Saturday, it is by far the best option for food in Naas/ Newbridge and surrounding areas! Surprised being from Newbridge we hadn’t heard of it before.
The food is unbelievable, and the staff are so friendly and attentive.
They have their Christmas dining options advertised inside and it’s so reasonably priced, we’ll definitely opt for here for our Christmas outings for a change this year.
There is a bar at the front which looks like a traditional Irish pub and they’d advertised they have live music every Friday and Saturday in December so we’re really looking forward to heading here.
10/10 would definitely recommend.
We were visiting the Naas area from NYC and discovered this gem. Cosy, warm gastropub with a relaxing atmosphere. The food is to die for! Best chowder I’ve ever had! Burgers are delicious with generous portions. Our children had lots to choose from the kids’ menu. Sausages were a big hit! One of the most memorable meals we had from our trip.
The soup was very tasty, full of flavour.
The bread with the soup was fresh and filling.
Then the chicken bacon sandwich on ciabatta bread was beautiful.
Done perfect , the water came in a very fancy bottle too.
Nice background music an the staff very helpfull.
Would recommend Cooke's.
Went into Cooke’s today 2 adults 3 kids - we hadn’t booked and they were busy - but we got a table - food was just gorgeous from start to finish! Delish!
Service was top - all staff were lovely from our waitress to our wicklow greeter - well run bistro bar too full to have desert but no doubt it would have been fab! Kids were to full as well which never happens! 🙈🙈🙈 so all round thumbs up guys - good food good people
