Coveys Gastrobar in Westport

We had a wonderful family meal in Coveys. Special mention to Hussane, who was exceptional and looked after us well. Would highly recommend.

Atmosphere and service of restaurant was very nice. The server was courteous and friendly. Reason for my 3 star rating is my ribeye steak was inedible, very tough, fatty, chewy. A far cry from the “marbling that melts into the meat resulting in a juicy steak” as advertised. I was expecting a fine cut of steak. Tried real hard to eat it, but after half the steak was so tough and chewy and having to take the meat out of my mouth, I gave up. The side dishes were all quite good and I enjoyed them very much. The peppercorn sauce was also very good…I dipped my chips in it since the steak wasn’t working out. My wife ordered the fillet and it was very good. She gave me a few bites and I wish I had ordered the fillet, not the ribeye. Perhaps it was just a bad cut that night, I don’t know as this was our first visit to Westport and Coveys. They did offer to cook me a new piece of meat, but at this point my wife was nearly done, so I declined.

Food and service absolutely fab! Have had dinner previously & lunch today which was so delish! Looking forward to going back again! We had a lovely waiter named Daniel, very attentive & friendly!

the cheese pizza is so good and I love the chocolate brownie dessert its amazing very good place to have a birthday dinner.

Ivett was such a wonderful server really looked after me and my family. Great staff! Barmen were top tier aswell

Stopped in here after our drive from Clifden to Westport. Our room at the Castlecourt wasn’t ready yet so we were hungry. We hadn’t tried any pizza in Ireland yet so decided to give it a go. We ordered the margherita pizza which did not have fresh basil but a drizzle of a pesto sauce, perhaps? The crust was nice and thin. I thought it was quite nice but my husband thought it was okay. My son got the kids beef cheeseburger which was nice and juicy but also very well seasoned - not bland at all.

Great Pizzas...Real Italian oven. Full Bar and nice selection of steaks. Eduardo Italian/Brazilian writer provided a excellent service. Walk distance from the main street Westport.

My family and I come here often for lunch, a beautiful restaurant with great service, and superb food. Today, had the takeaway pizza which was the best I've had in a while, delicious toppings and a lovely base.

Went in group of six, very friendly attentive staff but food was a let down, chicken dish was precooked and arrived from kitchen so quickly a microwave must have been involved and food looked like this was case, vegetables floppy and not freshly cooked, a disappointment I'm afraid

Covey's Gastrobar heeft ten minste wat andere gerechten dan gemiddeld op de kaart staan. Mijn partner neemt de seafood chowder, die weliswaar niet erg rijk gevuld is, maar wel goed smaakt. Vervelend is dat het voorgerecht op tafel komt, nog voordat onze al eerder bestelde drankjes geserveerd worden. Dit tempo blijft de hele maaltijd domineren. Zo staan we binnen een uur weer buiten, merkt mijn partner op. Als hoofdgerecht nemen we de linguini carbonara. Die is zo machtig dat ik na een paar happen al genoeg heb. Mijn tafelgenoot komt niet veel verder. Nagerechten zijn prima, een Eton mess en een Irish Coffee. Daarna nog een gewone koffie en een dubbele espresso en zo staan we alweer buiten .... kortom, prima eten, maar het gaat allemaal wel heel erg snel!
