I don't go to Eddie rockets very often, but I go once or twice a year. Yes, I know it's very expensive and over priced for what you get but occasionally I treat myself. Normally I go to the one Nass which I usually find very good and I don’t mind paying for the treat. In February, I went to the one in Citywest and I can say I won't be going back there again. I almost didn't go into the place as I was going in the door, there are a reasonable number of people there but there appeared to be very few staff with only one person cooking behind the counter. Anyway we did go in, we waited and were shown to a clean table. The menus were brought out. Now I know that Eddie rockets is expensive but the prices now seem to be pretty ridiculous but as I said I was going to treat myself so I was prepared to pay. Our order was : Kitchen Sink Nachos €11.95- Had theses as a starter- tasty enough but very small and not a lot in it for the price- I had missed the part on the menu that mentioned Chill had to be added as an extra to the order but give the price and the fact they were called "Kitchen sink" I assumed they were included. A Vanilla Shake €5.95- Came partly in a small glass and partly in galvanized mixer which was about a third full- what was in the small glass might have brought it to 2/3’s if you were lucky. The shake was very Milky, I realized what the issue was when I poured more from the galvanized container, the ice cream just plopped into the glass the shake hadn't been mixed or blended – which explained why the inside of the galvanized container was perfectly clean above the liquid. Smokestack Burger €13.50- It was served on a small sauce, just wide enough for the burger bun. Where the burger (pattie) was nicely cooked it was just dunked on the bun. The rocket rings (two in photo) was a single, if there was any relish or cheese there was so little on it I didn’t notice it and the bacon was a thin wet back rasher. The rasher was type that has such a high water content that it just shrivels up into nothing when you cook it leaving you with a strip of fat on the side of a measly piece of bacon. Bacon + Cheese Fries €7.25- well this is just a small bowl of fries less than one potato in content. It was meant to be with cheese and bacon. I don't know how they managed to do this but what cheese there was, was at the bottom of the bowl and missed the fries (I only found it as I got to the bottom of the bowel), and the bacon on the burger a small little piece of shriveled up wet rasher - Now when you look at it, it was €20.75 for the burger and chips. Avocado Chick Fajita Salad €13.95- this was really small and had very little chicken in it, my partner really had to struggle to find any at all, she said there would have been less than a 1/3 of chicken breast in it. She couldn’t figure out why on earth they would have paper between the salad and the plate. Total €52.60 Now the services was good and the food was well cooked but dishes were very small and the food was thrown together. After spending €52.60 we both felt hungery. When the server did there call back to ask how were things (I only mentioned the fries), she just said she was sorry I didn’t enjoy them, shrugged her shoulders and walked away, couldn’t care less which explains how the food was prepared.
