Good value for money. Good service and quality food

Very attentive and kind staff, great food, especially the smoked salmon and bacon and cabbage are my favorites, as well as many other hot dishes and salads. They also serve an excellent breakfast. I definitely recommend it.

I can’t think of anywhere recently where we’ve had such an ideal meal on the road during the day. We were hungry, and couldn’t face fast food or another quiche or fancy sandwich. But here we got pan-fried hake on a potato cake served with either chips or mashed potato, fresh veg and lots of it and sauce served on the side (without being asked). A jug of water appeared quickly as did my americano, again exactly as requested, and we saw some of the others with a pint of dilute or whatever they needed. All contented customers and many regulars. The hake was delicious. Home-made pear tart shared for dessert (and practically fought over) and the bill was under €40 for the two of us. This restaurant has a loyal following going by their reviews and we can see why. Other choices included roast lamb, stir fry and beef stroganoff. Ellie McGuire’s is right on the main road beside the Maxol station in Ballindine and we will definitely be calling in on our next N17 journey. They concentrate on good food, friendly service and excellent value. Oh and it seems their gluten-free options are many and varied (apart from sandwiches), which is good to know.

Fantastic is normal at Ellies. I just enjoyed one of the best tasting salads i have ever had. It was so colourful and fabulous taste of all the different components, just fantastic food at the correct price

We decided to go to Ellie's as a breakfast birthday treat for my wife. We were greeted and seated by a friendly young waitress and given menus. All 4 of us ordered something different and not actually an exact menu item, but everything came out beautifully and fast, along with hot toast and treacle bread. I couldn't believe how much value for money it was when I paid. We will definitely revisit more often, thanks for the lovely experience
