Fig Tree Restaurant in Newmarket on fergus

From the day of booking , to the actual night of our dinner , the staff could not have been more helpful. The food was fantastic and catered for all of our group of 10 people. Wonderful wines to choose from , and , as it was a birthday celebration , they allowed us to bring a cake which they brought out after the mains and made a lovely fuss of the birthday boy. Could not recommend it highly enough. Thank you to all the staff that looked after us on Saturday 31st August.

Overall, it's very good! But it would want to be for the prices! The Belgian Waffle desert was a bit disappointing! Shop bought and tasteless, but everything else we had was quite good! We sat in the Walled Garden which was absolutely beautiful!

Recently stayed at the Dromoland Castle as part of a tour. We dined at the Fig Tree one evening and it was absolutely perfect! We each ordered a pre-dinner cocktail. For dinner, we ordered a margarita pizza and fish and chips. Both the food and drink were outstanding! The staff members were all friendly and attentive. We would like to make special mention of wonderful Nile! Nile was helpful, kind and just a pleasure to talk with! Nile made our dinner extra special! Looking forward to returning to the Dromoland Castle and the Fig Tree Restaurant in the future!

Saddens me to say this a bit because I have always loved coming to the Fig Tree at Dromoland, but the food has taken a step back over the last couple of years in my opinion. We visit every now and again, but considering the prices, the food no longer meets expectations. Staff are always magnificent, but if you're going to charge €100 for 2 mains and 2 deserts, it needs to be better than it is.
