Fishy Dishy in Carlingford

I love fishy dishy, we go out of our way to visit every time we are in carlingford. We love their fish and love their lobster thermador even more! The team provide awesome service, great food and friendly atmosphere. Great value and a must visit in carlingford

Probably the best oysters I have ever had. I lived near Colchester (where the Romans rocked up first in England because of the oysters!) for over twenty years but these Carlingford Lough bivalves blew those away. In contrast, I’d had Roaring Water Bay oysters in West Cork two days earlier that were tiny, tasteless, dried out and lifeless. These Carlingford guys were Exceptional. We ordered hake and John Dory - both were spot on. Not over-cooked, not dried out, not cotton-wooly - just perfect. The sauces & sides were imaginative and well-integrated. A few minor quibbles. I was disappointed with the price/quality ratio of the white wine (Rueda Verdejo). A €37 bottle of wine that tasted like a sub-€10 bottle. Also, it was a Friday night in the middle of July (i.e. busy, busy, busy) but with two servers I felt the team appeared stretched. Occasionally the service veered from frenetic to rushed, and verging on panicked. This is a great restaurant, with the super-relaxed, and obviously well-trained team, in the kitchen working like clockwork - but the front of house team need to take a deep breath. Recommended.

A really, really good seafood restaurant in Carlingford. On the menu you'll find oysters, lobster, calamari, John Dory, hake, seabass, salmon and all manner of fish and seafood. It's a lovely restaurant with a great buzz and really good attentive staff. Good guinness too and a decent kids menu. The owners are present and friendly and helpful, the wine list is good and our whole experience was brilliant. Highly recommend for seafood lovers in carlingford.

We walked in, they were fully booked but they let us sit at the bar and order from there, but eventually they sat us. The garlic mushroom starter was amazing as were our 2 mains: 1. Sea bass with lemon, dill served with vegetables and Curry with M onkfish. Highly recommend this restaurant. The staff was also very friendly and took great care of us.

We visited fishy fishy today after driving over 50 kilometres because we had heard so many great things about it—and every single one of them was true! To start, we ordered the oysters. There were two options available: fresh oysters and baked oysters. . My husband completely fell in love with the fresh ones which was especially impressive as he had never tried oysters before. For our mains, we chose steaks and fish. The portions were very generous, and everything was cooked beautifully. The sides were fantastic and complemented the meals perfectly. A huge thank you to the wonderful staff who looked after us. The service was exceptional from start to finish—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It’s a lovely family-run business with a fantastic atmosphere, and you can really feel the care and passion that goes into everything they do. The location itself is beautiful, and after our meal we enjoyed a short walk around the area, which made the visit even more special. We will definitely be returning in the future, especially for more oysters! Next time we might even try the lobster for a change. Highly recommended to anyone looking for outstanding food, excellent service, and a wonderful dining experience. We can’t wait to come back! ❤️🦪🦞

Great food, friendly staff and fast service.

We enjoyed a lovely pleasant evening in the Fishy Dishy. The salmon was perfectly cooked and delicious also my husband's steak was equally tasty and delicious. A family run restraunt that have a warm manner and create a comfortable atmosphere while you dine out. Reasonably priced,tasty and cozy. Definitely will be back with all the family soon.

Food was,fresh,tasty and nicely presented. Every dish we ordered was absolutely amazing. We are planing to come back and try other dishes. Do visit,you won't regret!
