14/08/2026: Great little breakfast place, with good food and friendly staff, will be having the full Irish next time. Another August another great breakfast and a lovely pot of tea. Only down side people having mobile ohone conversations on speaker, have some respect for other dinners.
12/08/2026: This place is a must visit if you are in Carlingford.
Fabulous food and staff.
It really is like being in your nanny's sitting room.
Cash only so just be aware. 100% be back again

10/05/2026: Lovely service let a group of wheelchair user us the beer garden. Put the heaters on as it was a dry chilly day. Service was excellent. Best sticky toffee pudding I ever had.
10/05/2026: Astonishing experience, the food was beyond of superb, staff attentive and friendly since we stepped into the pub. The atmosphere preserve all the goods from their region. I highly recommend all intens in the menu, specifically the chowder and the mussels. If you are around do not miss this restaurant. Well done to the whole team.

26/07/2026: Probably the best oysters I have ever had. I lived near Colchester (where the Romans rocked up first in England because of the oysters!) for over twenty years but these Carlingford Lough bivalves blew those away. In contrast, I’d had Roaring Water Bay oysters in West Cork two days earlier that were tiny, tasteless, dried out and lifeless. These Carlingford guys were Exceptional.
We ordered hake and John Dory - both were spot on. Not over-cooked, not dried out, not cotton-wooly - just perfect. The sauces & sides were imaginative and well-integrated.
A few minor quibbles. I was disappointed with the price/quality ratio of the white wine (Rueda Verdejo). A €37 bottle of wine that tasted like a sub-€10 bottle. Also, it was a Friday night in the middle of July (i.e. busy, busy, busy) but with two servers I felt the team appeared stretched. Occasionally the service veered from frenetic to rushed, and verging on panicked. This is a great restaurant, with the super-relaxed, and obviously well-trained team, in the kitchen working like clockwork - but the front of house team need to take a deep breath. Recommended.

29/06/2025: This place was recommended to us and it did not disappoint, the toastys are like nothing we had eaten before! My kids can be hard to please, but they really loved the food! It's Run by nice people and it's a cool place! Remember everyone, it's street food! Don't go there expecting Michelin Star table Service! Just good quality grub on the street!

08/08/2026: Great place for food and excellent staff. This pub is a few minutes walk away from the cluster of pubs in the centre and probably doesn't get the crowd it deserves.
Food last night was fabulous and breakfast this morning was too.
Also, very well priced. The crab claws were beautiful.
I highly recommend walking a few minutes down the road to this little gem.

30/07/2026: Called at 4:45 for a single pizza for collection
Said it’d be 25 minutes. I agreed.
Arrived at 5:00, told me it’d be a few more minutes. Fair enough, expected.
15 minutes pass, I ask how much longer and he says 5 more minutes.
I wait at the store for another ~8 minutes, nothing yet.
It’s now 5:28, and the pizza I called in for 45 minutes ago for collection isn’t ready.
During my wait, people have come in, placed their order, and received it before I got my single pizza.
I left for store until ~5:35 to see my pizza finally ready on the hot rack.
50 minutes for collection.
This isn’t to mention how absolutely awful the pizza itself was.
Gummy cheese,
Tomato base that seems it was made with thoughts of tomato, not actual tomatoes,
A dough base that felt like it was worse than a slice of bread,
Bell peppers that genuinely tasted like nothing,
Chicken that was completely flavourless.
The pizza was impossible to get through.
And I can eat anything.
27/07/2026: Inside smells terrible, impossible to eat normally.
Service below than 1 star…. Slow and terrible quality of food. Nasty. Chips not cooked properly. Very slow and terrible customer service.

28/07/2026: Cash only. Beer was terrible. My husband tried 2 different kinds and they both tasted like the lines need to be cleaned. Would never return.
05/05/2026: Decided to nip into this pub on bank holiday Monday for a pint of Guinness. Whilst the pub itself was welcoming, we cannot say the same for the staff. We ordered our pints and were met with “it’s cash only, there’s a cash machine in the back”, went back to discover that there was a €3.50 charge for the privilege. We decided to leave to try find a free cash machine only to be chased down the street. Another member of staff shouting down a busy street telling us that “maybe next time tell the bar woman that we don’t want the pints that she’d just pulled” and that we “weren’t nice” for leaving. Now correct me if I’m wrong, but is it not common practice to not pull a pint until payment had been received?! I truly have never encountered such animosity over something so trivial, and frankly we were not at fault in the slightest. If you’d pay your taxes and have a card machine, you wouldn’t have to chase customers down the street, and have multiple negative reviews.

21/06/2026: We waited 40 minutes for mediocre food. I’m pretty sure they brought in the groceries for our dinner about 20 mins after we ordered. Keeping in mind the restaurant was open for an hour at this stage. The the tables and the water jugs were all dirty. The toilets were dirty and had no designated lady’s facility’s. We were also brought the wrong food. To top it all off at the end where where dull charged a 10% service fee as we where a table of 4 ans then they only accepted cash.
06/06/2026: We ordered langoustines, but received mussels and shrimp. When we objected to the bill and were offered a €10 discount, the boss came over to tell us that “this is what we call it” and demanded his €10 discount back. We refused, though; we really do know what langoustines are. Otherwise, the taste was okay.
