What an amazing find, so good we went the twice in the past week. The menu offers something for everyone, however if you are a sea-foodie you must visit. It’s a quirky little restaurant seating 10,to 12 customers, they also serve to the adjacent Harbour Bar ( which is also a great Irish pub).
We managed to try; prawn dumplings (absolutely amazing), oysters (fresh, and the best value I have seen in Ireland), cod and chips (soo tasty), scampi and chips (also best we had in Ireland) and of course mussels (from mulroy bay just a few miles away). We intend to return and finish trying anything we missed on this visit. Absolutely excellent establishment with incredible value for money.

We stumbled on this place looking for some good seafood after our day hike. I would give the food a B+, service B-, atmosphere D. This place is essentially a take out place. You order food from their door and hope you find a table while you wait (a very long time). You either try to find a seat in the left side of the bar or outside. There is a serious lack of seating and if you happen to snag a table inside as we did, the previous occupants dishes are eventually taken away but table isn’t cleaned. You are also provided 1 napkin per person so if you are ordering prawns you will need more than one napkin. Food wise it was decent. Don’t get the dumplings. They are not steamed but fried. So more like wantons than dumplings. They were so salty they were inedible. It was a shame because the prawn inside was tasty but the wanton itself with all the seasoning was insanely too salty. Seafood chowder was delish and the plate of prawns were also good. Would I go back… probably not as it was stressful trying to locate a table and when the table is found it’s filthy.

I had the pleasure of dining at Fisk in Downings and it was truly a delightful experience from start to finish. Upon our arrival, we were fortunate to secure a table immediately. Our group ordered a variety of dishes including four fish tacos (two with regular sauce and two without sauce), two prawn bao buns, the flavorful Gambas, crispy battered cod pieces with skinny fries for the little one and the prawn dumplings (3 pieces).
The food at Fisk was nothing short of exceptional, with each dish seasoned to perfection and ingredients bursting with flavors. We were thoroughly impressed and couldn't find a single fault in any of our meals. The staff further elevated our dining experience with their warm and friendly service, going above and beyond to recommend their best-selling dishes when we had trouble deciding.
Our memorable meal at Fisk came to around 75 euros, a fair price considering the quality of the food and service we received. Fisk is truly a gem not to be missed in Downings, offering a perfect combination of delectable seafood, impeccable service, and a welcoming atmosphere. This dining experience will stay with us for a long time, and we look forward to returning to Fisk in the future.

Probably one of the best seafood I ever had in Ireland. It's extremely difficult to make simple dishes perfect but they managed it.

Amazing menu with something for everyone but the freshness comes across in every dish.
Started with Mackerel Pate but the surprise is the bread a fantastic sourdough but with also a slice of Guinness wheat bread, very soft an excellent compliment. We also had the Prawn Dumplings, a real winner. The starter menu had so much more and you could simply order 4 or 5 starters as a full meal!
Main course was Scampi, Wow, Wow, Wow….. cooked to perfection and absolutely beautiful. Sinead had Mussels which we shared and was complimented with a great tomato based sauce.
A bottle of Pecorino which was lovely and total bill 100€100 ( real money £84 😜)

Amazing seafood at a beautiful location. Brilliant service, and you can sit outdoors or in the Harbour Bar if the restaurant is full. A must if you're visiting downings.
