Fitzwilton Hotel in Waterford

We had a lovely stay at the Fitzwilton Hotel. The Staff were absolutely welcoming, efficient and helpful, from the ladies on reception, the bar staff, the room attendants, the staff in the dining room etc., They worked so well as a team. The food served there was excellent. The rooms were spotless and the beds so comfortable. We will definitely be returning in the future.

I will preface by saying I always love coming back to Waterford, and it is always a joy coming across the different hotels they have and the different experiences they offer. With local competition literally on the same corner, the Fitzwilton Hotel and staff truly go above and beyond. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great, I was a big fan of the colour scheme throughout and taken a back by how many rooms there were as the hotel itself doesn’t look so big. With two room service menu’s to which we weren’t expecting being available, we quickly became excited for the idea of dinner in the room or breakfast in bed. We truly enjoyed the room allocated to us. As well as that, this hotel has some of the most attentive staff I’ve come across in any hotel, from a quick and easy, friendly check-in, there was a gentleman who had called and held an elevator for us to speedily get to our room, as well as such, I had asked the staff if they were showing the Superbowl, to which began at 11:30pm, whilst they weren’t aware if it was showing they quickly made it their mission to ensure it was for me later as they weren’t confident we would be able to watch it in our rooms, to which we were also able to do. No downsides whatsoever and wasn’t limited in where I could enjoy the game in comfort. As well as this, a special thank you to Matt the Night Porter for being welcoming and friendly, talkative and informative, he was a delight to return to the bar to throughout the game and I personally think this man possesses a quality that not enough in people in our industry do, he has a natural and warm want to help whoever he’s serving and it was greatly appreciated. If I had to be extremely nit picky, the food we had for dinner was delicious, the pepper sauce was a tad bland, but the gravy and the rest of the roast tasted superb so don’t let it discourage you from eating here! I would like to thank the wonderful members of staff at the Fitzwilton Hotel for an amazing experience and highly recommend it over its local competitors.

I recently stayed at this hotel with my partner for a night away. My partner was asking me for a while to visit Waterford as it’s basically his second home and always praises it highly. The moment we arrived the staff were nothing but professional and highly accommodating. We arrived on Sunday so it was Super Bowl day so the first question my partner asked was if the Hotel Bar would be showing it. They did indeed and actually kept it on in the bar just for himself 😂 (Even though we got in on the Tv in our Room). We had food in the hotel restaurant and it was very good once again the service was phenomenal . During the Super Bowl my partner was heading up and down during the breaks to get himself some drinks, during this time he made friends with the Night Porter/Bar Tender named Matt. To which my partner returns to our room with the biggest grin I’ve seen on his face. Due to the positive interactions he had with Matt, the bar that was supposed to close at 2am was opened for an additional two hours for my partner which he was absolutely delighted about as it was unexpected. This absolutely made our trip more memorable and we will definitely be staying in the Fitzwilton again in the future. The staff are absolutely amazing and it is unfortunate I can’t remember all the names who attended to us during our stay but nonetheless they do an outstanding job with their guests.
