Delicious food, short wait times, and excellent fish prepared by the female chef.

Freddy's Italian Restaurant (formerly known as Fat Freddy's) is Galway City's oldest pizzeria, open since the 1980s. It's located at 15 Quay Street, in the heart of the vibrant Latin Quarter. The restaurant is known for its welcoming, Mediterranean atmosphere, run by a predominantly Italian team, and is a favorite with both families and groups of friends.

Had the Pizza a few times, really, really good! Top 2 in Galway along with Napoli and Urban Fire, delicious :-)

Very good Italian food, descent menu offerings, reasonably priced considering its location. Only reason for the one star loss was the somewhat inattentive service and overall noise/traffic of the staff passing closely by or just standing right near our table waiting to help diners. The dinner rush was just starting so it was a bit loud inside with lots of foot traffic. But the food was good and definitely worth trying.
Lovely food, great atmosphere and staff were very friendly. We ordered a pizza to share with some chips. Pizza was amazing 🤩 we also had the Bailey's tiramisu it was delicious. Would highly recommend.

The opposite of a Tourist trap — Authentic in-house made food and ingredients. Genuine and caring staff. And very reasonable prices.
All of their breads are made in-house. Their pizza was fabulous, but I would highly recommend getting any sandwich on their focaccia bread for lunch.
Their house-made focaccia bread Is some of the best I’ve ever had.

I really really enjoyed Freddy's, the interior and atmosphere is really lovely and comfortable. The staff were all so lovely and the food came out quick. The food itself was amazing, so, so tasty, however, my favourite thing was actually the aiolis. We got all the aiolis to go with our chips and each of them were heavenly. They might need to start selling bottles of the Basil one, as I have been dreaming about it. Would reccomend going here!
