Friars Rest in Letterkenny

A decent option for a quick bite.

This is a nice comfortable place to eat. The food was well prepared and well presented. The portions are quite big which is value for money. Only thing I will mention is that the food can be quite oily so be prepared if your into your health and fitness. Place is top notch for hangover dining as it has plenty on the menu alongside milkshakes, ice cream and a pub next door to drift back into. Good location close to shop and pharmacy with plenty of parking around it.

Loads of gluten free options for coeliacs, I had the fish and chips and they were excellent. Sorry didn’t take photo before I started but the end photo tells its own story!!! Delicious.

Overall, a pleasant meal experience. The service is not the best, but I wouldn't say it's bad in any way, shape, or form. The food is good, my wife said, and I quote, "the beef is amazing". It was a bit cold, but that's all right as I was wearing my pullover. The servers seemed a bit rushed, but we did come in it around 8:30 and they seem to be getting ready to close soon. The dining option closed at 9:00 p.m., but the takeaway was still open when we left at 9:10. I definitely would come here again, a good resting place, a proper friars rest.

What is going on with the plastic glasses, I'll never order again from here unless they go back to cans and bottles, plastic glass is a joke
