Friars Walk Tavern in Cork

08/09/2025: Had a late lunch here almost 2 weeks ago. Hake, Chips, Mushy peas, tea, bread & butter . Now this is just my opinion and I may have made the wrong choice. The fish gave me the impression that it may have been frozen as it was very wet and was a bit shy in size. The batter was just that batter. Disappointed in the chips. Why are you using a rectangular chip cutting die? It is just wrong as all it does is allow faster cooking but once served they quickly go cold and hard, not nice. The rest was adequate. This wasn't a cheap meal and all in came to €28. With hindsight I should have complained there and then but my time was limited. Hoping this was just a bad one of day for the restaurant.

07/09/2025: Don't let the queue put you off. It's worth the wait for a table. The food is super delicious. We've been there three times and it's been excellent every time.
