Fast service, very good food & lovely staff

I Called at weekend and chicken was delicious . So I opted to try again during week. Awful disappointed. Thd chicken came in a slice which was tough and tasteless. I was a bit taken back how the standard could of dropped in such a short time. The veg and potatoes were excellent. But where ever they sourced this chicken from is nothing short of disgusting. So maybe they focus on weekend and during week just come up with what ever goes.

Nice place to stop on the side of the road during a busy day. The staff were very welcoming and attentive.

Rathcoffey Bowls Club recently had a get together in Friels - 26 people in total. From the outset when we met Jenny to discuss the venue and our requirements, she was so accommodating to our requests that we had no hesitation in going ahead with the booking. On the evening of the dinner we were given a private room off the bar, the tables had been set up beautifully and everything got off to a wonderful start. The staff were excellent and very professional and speedy when taking orders for drinks and food. Everybody was extremely happy with the quality of the food, the portions of food, the service and the excellent value for money. Jenny at all times ensured that everyone was okay and looked after. Full compliments to Friels, Maurice, Jenny and staff for a wonderful evening and we will certainly be back and will highly recommend Friels of Straffan for their excellent atmosphere, attention, service and cuisine. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Consistently Excellent — A Must-Visit Spot Just Outside Straffan, Clane, and Maynooth! Popped in today for a quick coffee and meal, and yet again, this place proves why it's a local favorite. Food came out fast — almost surprisingly quick — but still fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. Staff are genuinely friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which makes all the difference. Prices are very fair for the quality you're getting. Parking can get a little tight in the front (a sign they're popular!), but there's plenty of extra space out back if you swing around. Location-wise, it’s a perfect pitstop — a few minutes' drive from Straffan, Clane, and Maynooth — ideal for a relaxed Sunday dinner or a casual midweek meal. Not my first visit here, and without a doubt, it won’t be my last. Highly recommend if you're in the area — or even if you're not, it’s worth the short drive!
