We dine at Fureys regularly and always feel so well looked after. The food and drinks are consistently excellent, and there’s such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are incredibly accommodating, making every visit a pleasure. The brown bread is an absolute must-try, and the Guinness 0.0 is perfect every time! Highly recommend!

I enjoyed Fureys Bar . Very nice atmosphere. Had a starter “Prawn Cocktail “ excellent. However to give you a knife for cutting bread and buttering it with NO bread on the plate made no sense. €9.00 for prawn cocktail with no bread - is pretty mean spirited. When I asked what the plate and knife was for they told me it was part of the setting. The plate and knife came same time as the prawn cocktail. Figure this out for yourself as I couldn’t. Had they served bread with the prawn cocktail, I would have given them 4 stars and just maybe 5 star rating as this Bar & Restaurant has great potential . Edward Downey , Leixlip, Kildare.

Fabulous fresh food which was also very tasty indeed. We arrived on a quiet Monday afternoon, therefore there weren't many customers but good for us because we were served promptly. 😀

Love this place! Doesn't look great from the outside but we have walked and cycled on the canal here and dropped in for food. Its always good and today was no exception. Tasty, freshly cooked food and excellent friendly service.

Paddy's Bar and Restaurant

27/12/2024: I've been putting off writing this review because the prospect of saying everything that needs to be said is daunting. Maybe impossible. And also because I nominated them for a wedding venue award, which took awhile. My wife and I had our wedding and reception here in October for about 30 people. The atmosphere was perfect - cozy and intimate but not overcrowded or stuffy. It felt comfortable and homey but not cheap. A quintessential country pub, with all the tradition that carries. The food was incredible (spit-roasted local lamb over an open hearth turf fire, anyone?), the photographer was great, and the music (both live and DJ) was sincerely amazing. Everything was included in the wedding package, even two nights at a stunning cottage overlooking the lough. But Naoise, the coordinator, truly sent it over the top. She was constantly available, proactively engaged, and just went miles above and beyond to remove the stress of planning a wedding from overseas. I cannot speak highly enough of this place. They made us feel somehow simultaneously celebrated and part of the community. It was a perfect wedding. Absolutely perfect. If you're looking for a genuine human experience from an alternative microwedding venue that boasts waterfront dining in a rural Gaeltacht community, this is your spot. We laughed, we cried, we danced, and we cannot stop talking about it. It might not be my home, but it now occupies a suspiciously home-shaped place in my heart. Naoise, we'll be back!
