Fab wee bar, featured in the film The Field. Just like an old time pub, with wood panelling and open fire. Clean and lovely toilets. Great Guinness. Lovely staff.

Enjoyed some fine pints of Guinness when visiting "The Field Bar" in Leenaun on a fine summers evening. As you may know this is the bar setting for the famous Irish film "The Field" and it hasn't changed much in years which is a good thing. Outside seating overlooks the inner bay of Killary Fjord and try and take the Killary Ferry ( see our other review for more information and photos ) which is just a few minutes up the road " Just Amazing " If you are driving just be extra careful on the narrow roads around the north side of the fjord as it's quite common to encounter sheep grazing or just resting by the roadside. Among the best soups I've tasted in Ireland. For lunch, they offer typical Irish pub food like soup or sandwiches. The lady serving was very kind.

The Best pint of Guinness I have ever tasted

Lovely lady originally from Canada greeted us with he beautiful Newfoundland dog. Great spot for tea and coffee, you have got to try the lemon drizzle cake, amazing. Great place for kids to hang out, covered area for seating if weather closes in. Absolutely chilled out spot with a great vibe. Great for a cycling rest, highly recommended 👍 👌 😀 ❤️❤️❤️ Fergal and Linda ❤️❤️❤️

'The Field Bar' The bar that was used in the making of the above film.A brilliant atmosphere. A very nice open fire thar added to the atmosphere. Memories of the film on the walls and a lot of information in relation to same. TV. Busy. Staff efficient and friendly. Great location. Leenane would be a popular area for walkers. A very nice craft shop close by to visit. Lots of things to do. Check it out.

Great stop for a few drinks. Very local vibe. Nice to see the memorabilia from the iconic movie "the field", which was filmed in Leenane.
