Nice old pub, very clean and well kept. Also clean toilets which is a rarity in Irish pubs. The Guinness is excellent here too. But €13 for goujons and frozen chips? A total rip off.

A cracking pub. Lovely staff and the customers are so friendly. A really typical Irish Pub setting with a wide range of beers and spirits. I didnt have the food but heard it was great from locals

We had about 40 people in town for our wedding at Kinnitty Castle down the street. We worked with Eleanor to host everyone at Giltraps for a welcome Happy Hour. She was wonderful to work with. She ensured we booked music, had a dedicated space, and excellent service. Giltraps had so much character and the perfect way to welcome our friends to the Irish Countryside. 100% recommend!

I went here for tea on my own. The other patrons were very friendly. I was given the menu which was around 5 different types of pizza or chicken goujons; quite limited but this is a small bar so that’s to be expected. When the food arrived the portion was generous and delicious. To say I was there at teatime the atmosphere was excellent. If you want a genuine pub experience then Giltraps is the place to be

Slieve Bloom Bar

10/01/2025: We accidentally dropped into this cozy brewery bar. We were greeted by a hospitable owner and a wonderful dog. We really liked this place, so authentic and traditional, imbued with Irish history. A cozy fireplace, candles, background Irish music create a special atmosphere of the bar. Very tasty beer, which is brewed right here. We asked if they make food, we were told that unfortunately they do not, however, a couple of minutes later the owner of the bar brought a dish of pork, cheese and delicious bread that he had prepared himself, so that the guests would not be hungry. Absolutely free! It was unexpected and so pleasant and we are very grateful! A soulful bar, we highly recommend visiting and a huge thank you to Kieran for such a wonderful time we spent in this place!
30/10/2024: Really good spot & the owner Kieran makes everyone feel welcome. Top class spot that is also a microbrewery. The Pikeman Stout is top notch
