I’ve been to Golden Bites today, the new shop on Washington Street, with my young son. We were warmly welcomed, and the atmosphere was very pleasant and aesthetically nice. However, I do have some concerns. When placing my order, I made it very clear that my cappuccino should be made with oat milk (for health reasons I cannot consume dairy). Unfortunately, I received a cappuccino with regular milk. I didn’t complain at the time because I’m not the type of person who likes to create conflict at an establishment, but I mentioned twice at the counter that it should be with oat milk. Another point: I’m not sure if I was charged for two portions of grilled buttered bread since I received four slices, but I only ordered one portion, which I believe should be two slices. I also wasn’t given a receipt, so I couldn’t verify the charge. Once again, the environment is very pleasant, and the staff was kind and attentive. However, we have already experienced issues with delivery orders in the past — missing items, wrong orders, etc. I expected that visiting in person would be different, but unfortunately, the same kind of issues happened. This makes it a little difficult to want to return. I truly hope this is just something temporary due to the new location

I found a great snack place in Cork! They truly are the golden bites! Lovely place too! Their staff are friendly and nice as well. So whether it’s a dine in or take away, it’s worth a visit to try out a new snack you will surely love :)

I pass there every day and today was the first time I seem a complete new name, and a big advertise yellow and look inside it’s all new, very attractive cafe and the sweets bytes some churros and others cakes, I’ll try first and then I will tell you all, also almost sure they will taste something of the different world (good). .!!?

Its okay if whats on the menu sounds exciting and you haven't tried it before but otherwise the food is very similar to frozen snacks you can get from the supermarkets. The Corn Cheese Balls and Churros are two items which are worth trying. They do have a new hot food section but nothing worth recommending. The new location is good though as they have proper seating now. Staff are okay.

The food here is wonderful. I ate more, but it was so delicious that I didn't even take a picture. However, the tapioca was wonderful, the açaí was perfect, and the churros were 10/10, everything was perfect! I loved it, I recommend it! The food here is wonderful. Ramen

22/08/2025: The food the service and the whole experience was amazing. Thank you so much
13/08/2025: I ordered the Beef Rendang, a dish I fell in love with while living in Flores, Indonesia working as a dive instructor. It’s a dry curry with big chunks of beef infused with a paste made from roasted coconut flakes and spices. What I received did not match my expectations at all, more of a wet curry that lacked any real complexity of spice or depth of flavour. This was the main issue but it was also way too salty. I mentioned it to the lady at the point of sale and to be fair she did offer to have it redone for me and that was very kind but I already had a long day and was just exasperated by the whole thing. I got a lime and cut the salt a bit that way but left most of the sauce uneaten. The meat was not chunky and tender as expected for this iconic dish but rather small, quite tough and also kinda hard to find. Again, this dish should have big cubes of beef marinated in Rendang paste for several hours. On the up side, service was prompt, the rice was well cooked and the Heineken 0.0 was ice cold and crisp. Despite a disappointing meal this time I would be happy to give them a second chance based on service and atmosphere alone but I would not order the Rendang again as it simply isn’t a Rendang based upon my personal experience; having cooked the meal myself from scratch. Had it not been for the very pleasant nature of the lady serving me this may have been a more severe appraisal. It has a lively atmosphere too so they are definitely getting other things right. Then again, maybe I’m just wrong to expect an authentic Indonesian meal, in a little village, in the arse end of Cork
