Golden Elephant in Cork

Golden Elephant in Douglas is a fantastic spot for authentic Thai food with a simple, flavourful menu. The Tom Yum soup is outstanding and full of bold taste. The spicy peppercorn wok fry and ginger tofu & veg stir-fry are absolutely delicious. Udon noodles were perfectly cooked and very satisfying. The food is worth every penny.

Still exceptional 👍 Have not been here for years as moved away from city. Remains one of the best places to eat and worth the drive into Cork, all tables full on a Tuesday which is a good sign. Every dish cooked and presented perfectly

This was a great find! We were craving for authentic asian cuisine and found it here! The tom yum, pad thai and fried chicken are to die for! Will be coming back soon to ease tom yum cravings!!

Where should I start? For someone who has been in Thailand a couple of times, I find this restaurant the best Thai restaurant in Ireland by far. First and foremost, the owner and staff are absolutely brilliant, very welcoming, and super nice, and they will definitely help you with great suggestions if you don't know where to start. I am particularly obsessed with their green thai curry with vegetables and tofu, so well cooked, full of flavour, aromatic, and absolutely exquisite. I also love their papaya salad to start with something fresh, but bear in mind it is quite spicy, which, by the way, I absolutely love! Their spring rolls are good, too. Last but not least, if you are a fan of soup, you should definitely give thai soups a go. They are very special and nothing that you would expect. The Tom Yam soup is vibrant, fresh, full of flavour, and again spicy. When it comes to drinks, I really like I can find a truly thai beer, Singha, a pale larger beer, and also enjoy a Lychee drink, similar taste to a strawberry or pear with a hint of citrus and rose. Honestly, it is my favourite restaurant in Cork. I could eat there every single day. Their food is just mouth-watering!!!!

We had lovely wok food for dinner. You can also order for takeaway. The restaurant is very busy. If you want to make sure you have a table for you, it is worth to reserve it.

IT fue nuestra primera visita y tuvimos una comida encantadora mis hijos pollo y anacardos se presentó maravillosamente en una cesta comestible, pero todas nuestras comidas eran deliciosas. El personal era agradable. Los desiertos estaban bien, solo mis hijos tenían postre, pero estaban un poco decepcionados, pero diciendo que sin duda iría de nuevo. IT tiene un precio razonable por la calidad de los platos principales.

Von Aussen würde man nicht glauben, welch gutes, thailändisches Essen hier serviert wird. Zuerst geht es eine steile Treppe in den 1. Etage. Danach wurden wir sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Das Essen war schlicht weg grossartig. Wenn wir in der Gegend sind, werden wir gerne wieder hier speisen.
