The ribs were fine, but the chow mein was disappointing. It lacked the smoky, wok-fried flavour and texture you'd expect, and instead tasted as though it had been boiled.

This is my weekly spot for my Saturday night takeaway. They’re super fair if you ring them about an adjustment they always helped me out with price and the food is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend the spice box.

My more recent orders from Golden House have been much improved and the Kung Po beef I got today was so pleasing! Really punchy, deep and balanced flavours and the textures were on the money too. Can't imagine a tastier one, so 5 stars given. Beaut!

27/03/2026: My family are regulars and usually the service is great. The ladies there always treat us with such kindness. Today I was served by a man, who I presume is the owner. It was going alright until the card I was using wouldn't accept being tapped and needed to ring to get the pin. All was fine. I turn around to leave and I hear him talk about me before I even have the door fully open... "What was her deal on the phone" as if he was expecting me to magic up the money even though he was right in front of me when I said the words "What is the pin again?" down the phone.

08/02/2026: Good, hot, fresh food! The fish is deep-fried, so it is quite oily, but it’s very crispy, hot, and tastes really good ..especially with the tartar sauce. Definitely worth trying if you want to try Irish fish and chips. Chicken is great .. drumsticks 🍗🤩 I’d say it’s a bit like McDonald’s for burgers .. not exactly local/traditional, but still feels local since they adapt their menu from country to country but way more healthier than them ..
