Great Southern Killarney in Killarney

Wow! Sometimes you just don’t know what you’re going to get when you book a room, but we were so absolutely thrilled. The Great Southern in Killarney is AMAZING as are all the employees…..especially Cara McDowel…she was a bright spot at check-in and each day. You are all magnificent.

This hotel is special. Great food and stellar service. It has the ambiance of being well loved for an extended period of time.

Simply amazing experience. Spent 4 nights while on a golf trip. The atmosphere, service, spa and history of the hotel is incredible and did I mention the SERVICE! The morning breakfast buffet was the perfect start and Bibi is the most wonderful person in the restaurant:)

We have never been so sad to leave a vacation!!! From the front desk (Ciara, Erin, and the rest of the team), to the concierges (Evelyn and Sean), to the Porter, Vlad, and to the breakfast team (Kathleen and everyone), the service was impeccable. Everyone is so incredibly kind, and the hotel has all of the amenities you could need in the best location, right in town (but, not RIGHT in town - about 2 mins walk away, so it’s not too loud and you feel like you’re in your own world). The grounds are beautiful, and perfect for traveling with kids as there’s a lot to explore on site (including a playground). Highly recommend opting in for breakfast as it’s delicious. Thank you all for making our vacation so fantastic!

Had our wedding here at the weekend. 5* all round. Wonderful service food accommodation space parking hospitality overall feel. Just elite.

I stayed four nights at the The Great Southerm in mid-May 2025 with my two brothers and two sons. I have stayed at the sister hotel (the Hayfield Manor in Cork), and in every respect the Great Southern matches the serice, ambience and class of its sister hotel..

What a stunning place to stay. The staff treat you like the best parts of your family. The staff in dining room, especially Bibi ensured we had everything we could need or want.

The Spa and Beauty Rooms were FAB! Afiro, Busie, and Confidence were so professional and welcoming. We were a party of 5 and got massages and facials. The treatments were 5 star. Atmosphere and facilities were beautiful. We will be making this a yearly outing!

Great place to stay in Killarney. Staff couldn't be more helpful and location is perfect to explore the town. Breakfast was superb and loved the bar

This hotel is amazing with wonderful staff and a welcoming atmosphere. The room was lovely and we had the best nights sleep ever, the beds were so comfortable. We had lunch in Brownes Bar and it was lovely. The food was so nice with great drinks also. The staff were always making sure we were happy and showed a genuine interest in our visit and how we were getting on. I 100% recommend this hotel! The location is brilliant right in the town centre of Killarney but still feels like you are in a private area. I can’t wait to go back here. 5 🌟
