We stayed here for 2 nights on a CIE tour. The accommodations couldn't have been better. Our room was newly renovated. The bathroom is beautiful and bed is very comfortable.

Attended a wedding in the great southern. Excellent service by the hotel. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and could not do enough for us on the day. They catered to my sons food allergies and I cannot fault the service. The food was beautiful and of a really high standard. Would definitely return again

We would have no hesitation in recommending The Great Southern Hotel, located within walking distance of everything and opposite the train station. Amazing staff, Delicious food, wonderful ambiance, our bedrooms interior design was impressive with sunshine streaming in the window. Looking forward to our next visit already. Therese Mulreany

Fantastic Hotel with very professional staff. Room was immaculate and we even got an upgrade because it’s was my boyfriends birthday. We weren’t even there a full day before he said he couldn’t wait to come back again. 100% would recommend.

Only complaint was part of the hotel and bar were closed for refurbishment. Apart from that everything was great. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I were attending the Restaurant Awards and for convenience we decided to stay at Great Southern Killarney. Little did we know that the hotel is amazing starting from the door man. What amazing person. Then the girls in the reception were extremely helpful. The manager was marvellous. I'm really sorry I forgot all the names, but I'm quite bad at remembering them and I wish I could remember them, as the staff is from another world. They do care about their guests.

Lovely stay at the Great Great Southern! Found room very over priced for what we got! Room! Went with an upgrade but didn’t see the reason for the cost of upgrade! Room was inconsistent in its look Amd feel! Furniture was well worn and windows where filthy! Some bathroom Accessories missinh original toothbrush holders and rings still on wall! But positives bed was comfortable shower was nice and staff where lovely! For one night for two ppl €300 n no breakfast included just felt very over priced!

26/03/2024: I entered because of outside , the view of the bottles make you want to enter , well I did it and I dont regret it at all , the staff , specially Emilia is verry kind, the choices are Incredible. Its a must to do in this city ! Totally love it !

Porterhouse

03/04/2024: The best place that I ate in Ireland (so far). First of all, you may want to book a reservation, I didn't and had to wait 15 minutes in the bar I order to sit. In the bar the bartender was helpful and suggested to me a couple of local beers to match with my food (also I couldn't help noticing the adroit way he poured the drinks). The rest of the stuff wasn't as nice as he was. The place looks really awesome, similar to an American burger house style/booth full with interesting frames and decoratives, I could keep my eyes from the walls. The food came early and it was really really good. (there is a whole vegan section on the menu with a couple of options from starters to burgers and main courses). I ordered the porterhouse plant based burger with black beans and the soup of the day (which was cauliflower soup) both were super tasty and the portions were more than satisfactioning (although the country potatoes sides to the burger was extra spicy, not the best to me). Prices were fine and I really liked the experience. I strongly recommend this place.
