Very charming little place. Service was great. We weren’t really hungry and just wanted a coffee but decided to go with something small. Everything tasted great. We’ve been in Cork 4 days and tried quite few places for breakfast, and this one was a bit on a pricier side with smaller portions. But still liked it!

Tom Durcan spiced beef sambo I got was fantastic , really good! The side salad was really great ,simple with a bit of dressing! Hit the nail on the head and decent value too! The Aussie girl who served us was also fantastic! Only issue I had with the place was the supervisor (or manager) who was walking around with a face like a slapped arse, and was bringing the mood down

I was in many cities in the world, and this restaurant is one of my favourites. The Benedict eggs, blueberries pancakes and hot chocolate are very good.

I lobe this place. Its not overpriced like a lot of brunch spots in Cork, but they serve delicious, quality food that'll keep you craving more. The atmosphere is peaceful and the staff are friendly and attentive. No bookings, walk ins only and the wait is never too long.

Transitioned into a fantastic restaurant, wonderful menu with fabulous brunch options, poached eggs, pancakes scones etc all the favourites but done way better

The Idle Hour

06/12/2024: What should be a gorgeous old school pub is ruined by screens. There are 2 huge TVs behind the bar showing 2 different sports that no one was watching while I was there. Added to this were 2 bright advertising screens running Guinness adds. Their poor choice of strobing Christmas lights combine with the screens to create a very flashy amusement arcade like atmosphere. Service was friendly and efficient. This could be a beautiful pub.
14/10/2024: Lovely pub with great pints & a nice atmosphere, music is not too loud. Great for catching up with friends

17/12/2024: Old Style chipper. 2 Cod 12 euros large chips 4.50. Best chips in Glanmire. Best Fish in Glanmire. Excellent value.
