Hang Dai delivered exactly what you want from a first night out in Dublin — a high-energy vibe paired with elevated, flavour-forward dishes. The space is moody and vibrant with a DJ setting the tone, making it feel more like an experience than just dinner. We started with the chicken siu mai dumplings — juicy, well-seasoned, and a great way to kick things off. The striploin with pak choi and marrow sauce was a standout: rich, tender, and beautifully balanced. The wagyu short rib rice noodle salad brought a fresh contrast, with deep flavour and that melt-in-your-mouth texture. The Sichuan kung pao chicken had the perfect hit of heat and boldness, while the tom yum prawn with lemongrass was bright, aromatic, and layered with flavour. Service was attentive and seamless throughout, rounding out a great overall experience. Really lovely restaurant, would absolutely come back. The staff are super welcoming and very accommodating of allergies. The food was delicious as well and the outside balcony is completely covered and has heat lamps so was nice and warm with the added bonus of the sunshine!

From beginning to end this was such an amazing experience. I showed up an hour before close and they were able to seat me at the bar. They offer a complimentary coat check service, making this feel like you have stepped into someones home for a really good time, and to stay a while. Typically bar seating isn't my fav but this was the comfiest bar seating with adequate foot rests, so you could really relax into your seat and enjoy taking your time. I forgot I was on a bar stool! I was served by Hannah who was extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations from the menu. She was also very on it with her service and attention to details. The place was BUSY and I noticed how everyone got similar service and were cared for well. Shrimp crackers were brought to the table, they were so crispy and fresh! I ordered the seared tuna starter which was an experience of flavours and textures that were so carefully thought out. Each ingredient brought out the flavour of the next. I combined this with the crackers for an extra crunch, and to soak up the delicious salsa in the dish. I ordered the mapo tofu main with egg fried rice. This was by far the best mapo tofu I have had on the planet. The flavours lingered with each bite, and I felt like I could eat that rice forever! The combination of just enough kick from the heat and sweetness from the beans, allowed the tofu to come along for the ride combined with the rice. The ingredients are locally sourced and you can tell the menu was carefully curated with every detail! If you like a dirty martini, the Filthy Gorgeous was PERFECT. I unfortunately didn't catch the bartenders name but he was amazing! They ran out of lychee for my next drink which would have been the Electric Barbarella, so instead I asked if he would be open to creating a drink for me with similar ingredients replacing the lychee with something else. He asked me my flavour profiles and we went with a bitter, slightly sweet, citrus-y twist to this cocktail. It was so good! The ambiance was definitely up my alley with great music and the dim, red lighting. I could see how the dim and red lighting could be off-putting to others. It allowed for an atmosphere to just take in the experience with little room for taking pictures of your food, since the lighting wasn't going to be the greatest for pictures of your dishes - everything would just be red. I was the last one out of the restaurant and I didn't feel rushed at all. They told me to take my time, the chefs and staff were doing their thing, as I enjoyed the last bites of my meal. I heavily recommend this if you enjoy Chinese food with a creative twist, great cocktails, and great service with a fun atmosphere.

While the atmosphere was great and the food we did have was nice, unfortunately there were very limited options for those with certain allergies. I have a shellfish allergy and there was only two items from the main course I could have because the kitchen couldn’t accommodate cooking in a different wok, this was not communicated on their website or menu beforehand. The cocktail I had was very nice and the waitress was helpful in trying to find something for me to eat.

Absolutely adored this restaurant! The staff was super nice, and the food was simply perfect! Would totally recommend and go back.
