Hargadon Bros in Sligo

The food at Hargadon Bros was genuinely delicious. I had the fish and chips and my girlfriend had the burger with avocado, and we’d have no complaints on that front. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. We were seated in a nook to the left of the room, which was cosy enough but seemed to leave us invisible to the staff, and getting attention took real effort throughout the evening. The low point was dessert: after flagging down a waitress, we ordered and were brought two spoons - but the dessert itself never came. After waiting 20 minutes, I gave up and went looking for someone to bring the bill instead. A waiter did notice the spoons on our table and asked if we’d ordered dessert, but by then we no longer wanted it. Lovely food, but the service needs attention - especially for tables tucked out of sight.

We arrived naively on a Saturday night when they were very busy and we could not get a table. Most places would say no and that be it. But the extremely nice hostess walked us outside and gave us great recommendations for other places to try. She took the time and effort even thought they were busy inside. You can best believe that we will be coming back here on our next trip and will remember to make a booking here due to their super nice staff and because the food smelled amazing!

Quaint stone-floor pub 🥰 Taste highlight 🤪💪🏻 The best burger 🍔 on our 14-day road trip 🤗🤘🏻‼️ 🚨 Be sure to reserve 1-2 days in advance! For example, we reserved our table for four for the next day via email. I've never received four replies to an email in less than five minutes! ☝🏻 That alone deserves a separate award 🥇 👍🏻 Our server even spoke a little German, which has a special charm with the Irish 😍 For the food ☝🏻 The H Burger 🍔 = 🤪😍🤪 The New Yorker 🍔 = 🤪😍🤪 The Smoked Bacon 🍔 = 🤪😍🤪 Spaghetti Aiolo + 5+5 extra 🍤 more Carbonara but irrelevant because = ☝🏻🤪😍🤪😍🥰‼️) Anyone who goes there and wants to "feast" on food with a starter + main + 1-3 beers 🍺 should expect to pay €50 per person 💪🏻 But for the best burger in all of Ireland 🇮🇪 It's absolutely worth it. However, ☝🏻 you have to be able to tolerate a noisy environment 😑 which is the only minor drawback in our review. Regarding parking 🅿️ there: Honestly? This restaurant isn't for those who don't like to walk and always want to park right in front 🚪. However, if you're only willing to walk 3-5 minutes, you can park for free from 6:30 PM ☝🏻‼️ in the DUNNES supermarket parking lot 🅿️ and walk there. Maps makes it possible 😜😎 We'd love to come back again sometime!
