Harkin's in Dublin

When Dublin has lost a day thanks to a storm, so the Guinness Storeroom tours are booked out, what does one do? One goes around the corner to Harkin's Bar and enjoys a pint o' the black there!

Decent local bar - the nearest bar to the entrance to the Guinness Storehouse museum. This place is also known as The Harbour Bar which might sound strange but there was a canal basin right across the road behind the old stone building- a canal that was used to ship Guinness from the brewery. This was also the last pub where the legendary Irish writer Brendan Behan had his last drink before he died in 1964. Decent Guinness for €5.50.

Popped in here before we went onto the Guinness factory, great pint of Guinness, probably the best pint we had all weekend. The staff were super friendly and there was a great atmosphere about the place, will definitely go back when we return to Ireland.

Authentic Irish pub within minutes of the Guinness Museum. The upstairs portion offers a cozy, welcoming restaurant with a brilliant menu and excellent service. Downstairs is an authentic Irish pub that's perfect for watching sports and casual pints.

You can eat comfortably on the 2nd floor. The food was very tasty and I can only recommend it Dessert (ice cream) was really not recommended! Didn't taste good at all Service was very unmotivated…

A proper pub. Great pint, staff and atmosphere. Guinness was better than the Storehouse! Pizza was good but this pub is all about the atmosphere..class.

Just stopped in out of the rain for a pint, and it was one of the best I've had, and at a great price!

Good authentic food. Prices okay

Vine aquí con un grupo de amigos directamente de la fábrica Guinness. Lo seleccioné porque dos de nosotros tenemos algunos problemas de movilidad, así que solo queríamos estar cerca, pero fue una buena elección. En primer lugar el Guinness obtiene un 8. 5 / 10 (a diferencia de la fábrica que calificó un generoso 3 ). Segundo el precio y la calidad. Todos teníamos diferentes líneas principales y todos eran muy buenos. Yo tenía la sopa, que era realmente sabrosa (picando que podría haber sido más cremoso y hubiera preferido tostar pan de soda) , pero mi esposa tenía el Bacon&Cabbage irlandés que era probablemente el plato destacado. Sin duda me gustaría ir allí de nuevo para la comida y bebidas. No se quedó lo suficientemente tarde para la música.

Friends were on a Guinness tour and we decided to meet at Harkin’s for lunch. As we were a bit earlier than our friends, we went in to inquire about a table. We were told it was a 40 minute wait which wasn’t a problem. We went to the bar for a pint while we waited for our friends to join us. We were called for a table within the 40 minute time frame. We ordered two of the Guinness and beef, the seafood chowder and a carrot soup. Both the beef stew and seafood chowder were very lacking respectively in beef and seafood. There was one decent size piece of beef in the stew and a potato, but not much else. Both the beef and seafood arrived at the table luke warm. With so many good places to dine, we were very disappointed in our choice.
