After visiting the Guinness Storehouse, we had lunch at Harkin's. My seafood chowder was fantastic and the service was super friendly.

After visiting the Guinness brewery, we came to this place. 100% recommended! Fast service, relaxed atmosphere, and delicious food. We ordered Cajun wings and beef stew. Generous portions and great value for money.

We were early for our Guinness storehouse tour so popped in here for a quick pre-drink. Wow. We were made to feel so welcome. Great atmosphere, perfect pints, and really attentive staff - the barman taught us all about "Red Lemonade", gave us a sample and it tasted great! Really recommend for anyone passing by. Thank you Team!

A great pub restaurant with good food and good service highland recommend stopping if you are visiting Carlow. Very busy lunch time crowd however the food came out very quickly and all accommodations that we needed specially for my gluten-free were accommodated with no issues whatsoever.

Bangers and mash 10/10 thoroughly enjoyed would of had another one if I wasn’t so full good pint of Guinness as well - would recommend and come back love from Australia!!

I had a late Sunday Dinner at 6pm (they close at 7pm on sunday) and they were able to accommodate a lovely bangers and mash, and ham dinner. It was lovely. Staff was friendly. The upstairs fine dining bistro experience was very nice. I liked how they blended one of the flat screen TVs into the wall by making it look like a protrait on the wall. Well done. Clean, well stocked condiments. It was a pleasure.

The Brass Monkey

10/05/2026: We came to the Brass Monkey after our first restaurant selection was fully booked and we are so glad we did. The restaurant provides a gluten free menu and the servers were accommodating and double checked with the kitchen to make sure everything was safe for coeliac. Standout was hands down the Dublin bay garlic prawns. So fresh and perfectly cooked! They are definitely worth the work and what a big portion we received! We soaked up all the extra garlic butter with the gluten free toast. Definitely recommend
