Hartley's in Dublin

Went last night for a meal with my other half, it is a place I've been looking forward to eating in for years, as the building looks so impressive and historical. Was delighted with my food, every bit of it. It's rare for a vegetarian to be so well looked after to the point where I struggled to choose from so many really good options. Had the gorgonzola risotto with a sumptuous side of cauliflower cheese, the salted caramel sundae and washed it down with a bottle of Nero davolo. The waiter was grand, but the maiter d was really old school professional, popping down to check that each course was ok for us which is a nice touch. Will definitely be back. It was a treat, but we didn't feel fleeced, things felt like good value as all the food was excellent and top notch.

The food is good, the mussels and venison were excellent , selection is ok, there should really be a white fish on the menu. The service is very pleasant but a bit hit and miss, there was a mix up with our order but the dealt with it very professionally. Beautiful room but if it isn’t too busy it can seem big and cavernous. Worth a visit.

Overall, the experience was acceptable, though there were clear shortcomings. The waiter who took our order was very patient and polite. However, when our wine was served, another staff member spilled wine outside the glass, in more than one place, and simply walked away as if nothing had happened. Later, my steak was brought out. I had ordered a rare ribeye. When I took the first bite, the steak was already slightly cold and extremely tough, almost like chewing gum. Each bite required at least a full minute of chewing. To their credit, the service staff were attentive and quickly noticed that I seemed dissatisfied with the steak. He patiently asked for my feedback and relayed it to the kitchen, remaining polite and professional throughout. He explained that the toughness might have been due to the steak being cooked rare. However, regardless of the doneness, it should not have been served lukewarm in the first place. In the end, they removed the steak from the bill. The other dishes were decent, and my girlfriend was very satisfied with what she ordered. Overall, the food was average, but the service was generally good. It would be better if the restaurant could improve the food quality and the performance of certain staff members.

Our first stop. We found Hartley's quite by accident and out of convenience, as the carport was next to pier. We sat outside with a beautiful view. Service and attention were impeccable. A bit pricey, but the location was worth it!

Excellent place to eat with exquisite service and very good food. €113 for three people. Highly recommended for a break from the pizzerias and burger joints.

We went for a meal in Hartley's Restaurant last night, we have eaten in this restaurant many times & always had a wonderful time & last night was no exception. A Great Restaurant, Fantastic Food & Wonderful Staff it is always amazing when you can treat yourself to go out & eat & always know that it you will be very Happy at the end of the evening. We had one small issue with our meal (which I pointed out to our server not as a complaint but just to draw attention to it.) The way that this issue was handled was FANTASTIC & so Professional. When we got our bill that part of the meal was taken off the bill as well as our first round of drinks which we did not expect as it was such a small issue, but this goes again to show the Professionalism of the staff. THANK YOU for another Wonderful Night looking forward to our next night out in Hartley's Restaurant

Lovely lunch experience today. Friendly service, great food. Went for the three course lunch menu, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
