Hi-B Bar in Cork

Cool spot in Cork city. Pint was ok

I visited this pub on Friday, I had heard this is one of the most famous Pub among the locals in Cork. So i visited here to make local friends and have some conversations. However as a foreigner it was hard to start conversation because everyone in this pub came together with their friends or family. So i just enjoyed a pint of Beamish alone for about an hour and just watched other people talk to each other. During that lonely time, A gentleman came up to me and started the conversation. It was really great and i was greatful for that. He came with his wife and they showed a lot of interest in me. My English is not really good, but they encouraged me all the times and wished me a good luck. The gentleman bought me a pint of Beamish as well. I had a great time at the Hi-B bar!

What a great pub a kinda blast from the past . The strict NO PHONES policy is a winner in my book . The only draw back was its 1 small room but it was packed to the rafters . It was a Friday night so that's fair enough but well worth a visit.

A Cork institution, a most visit when in the city

Proper old school authentic bar. You must visit for pint or a whiskey if you are in cork. Beamish was brilliant and a huge selection of whiskeys available. 🍻

Lovely cosy pub. Andrew behind the bar is a gent. Great atmosphere.

No phones allowed, so I'm not sure how a Google review works, apart from the irony of it all.

Price of drink is getting outrageous. G&T and a glass of wine 22 euro. You actually pay more for the privilege of the owner not having to pay for Sky sports . Less overheads equal higher price

No food, just pints and spirits. No tech, just chat. Great pub for s pint with friends. Just go!!!!
