Hands‑down the best fish and chips we’ve ever eaten — the sauces were delicious, the fish perfectly fried (crispy, tasty, and not greasy at all), and the fries a solid 10/10. If we hadn’t been so full (the portion was huge), we would definitely have tried their desserts and drinks as well, because they looked gorgeous. Impeccable service, too.

The food was delicious and the service was great. We ordered the special chicken wings, the fish and chips, and the burger, it was really good! We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends. Looking forward to coming back!

Had an amazing dinner in Hilliards last night. The food was delicious and we were served very quick. The staff were very friendly and there was a really nice atmosphere there. But if I’m to say one thing it’s that Hilliards serve the best mashed potatoes in Killarney.

Such a beautiful place inside. Lovely decor, staff were very nice. Food didn't disappoint. Cocktails on point👌🏽 enjoyed dining in Hilliard's. Highly recommendand will visit again.

Killarney Grand

17/07/2026: We came here to watch Gaelic football. The bar is huge and had plenty of screens to watch the game. It was a hot day and we cooled off in the air con and with a cold cider. The crowd was fun and we'd definitely come back!

08/06/2026: We visit Herbert’s Fish & Chips in Killarney every year, and it’s always a highlight of our trip. This year, however, someone in our group was recently diagnosed with celiac disease, and we were disappointed thinking they would have to miss out on one of our favourite traditions. I was honestly nervous about asking whether they had any gluten-free options, but I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. The staff were knowledgeable and reassuring, explaining that they have a dedicated fryer for gluten-free food and even offer fish that is unbattered safe for people with celiac disease. Being able to enjoy the same classic fish and chips experience together meant so much to our group. The food was delicious as always, and the extra care they take to accommodate those with celiac disease made this visit even more memorable. A huge thank you to the team at Herbert’s for making everyone feel included. If you’re looking for great fish and chips and need a celiac-friendly option, I highly recommend them!
