We had a 60th birthday party at the Golden Goose and everything from the booking experience to the food and service in the night was second to none. Every member of our party of 16 really enjoyed what they ate, and the portion sizes were more than generous (I’ve never seen chicken curry with so much chicken!). Competitors in the area will definitely charge you more for smaller, less tasty portions. The striploin steaks were enjoyed by many as were the burgers. Staff made the experience special by bringing out dad’s cake and singing happy birthday, and they were kind enough to allow us to have the cake for dessert at no charge. Dzenan, the owner, offered very personal service which added to an already great experience. Also worthy of mention is the €5 Guinness—not many places do that any more :)

Got beef burger and chicken burger. Both nice but no sauce in either, which was strange. Service very good and friendly staff. Pricey for what you get. €17euro for bog standard burgers. Got desserts, too. Baileys cheesecake and Apple tart. Apple tart very basic and small. Cheesecake looked nice but average in taste. Didn't seem like it was homemade. All in all grand experience. Kids meals were good too btw. One annoying thing is they charged €2 for kids cordial drinks. That's just greedy...no need.

The place welcome you as you arrive with lovely traditional Irish music. The staff are friendly and professional. The food taste goood. The car park is spacious and free.

Service was very good and attentive. Food was a little disappointing. Chicken wings for starters had little or no sauce on them. Had chicken curry for mains and while it was tasty there wasnt much chicken in it

Barrtra Seafood Restaurant

08/01/2024: We visited for a late Sunday lunch in early January. Barrtra was as good, if not better, than I remembered. Food was out of this world, we had one fish and one meat surprise; lots from the garden and all local fish and meat. It was a fantastic way to usher in the new year, service was friendly, prompt, and our server was so knowledgable. Couldn't recommend a trip here highly enough, can't wait to go back already.
29/10/2023: Excellent food, efficient homely service in a beautiful part of the country. Bit pricey but well worth it.

16/08/2023: Excellent carrot cake!! Very nice place, we all had great deserts and coffee. Very nice terrace with a great view.
30/07/2023: Great little spot to grab a snack and some tea. Appeared to be family run which added its own charm to the whole experience. Tea was good, and the pastry that I got was delicious.
