The bistro is casual, and we found a warm welcome and a friendly team on a busy Saturday night. We were a party of 4 and selected a large variety of starters between us. I had the Agedashi tofu and the warm bucketwheat noodle broth with yuzu (almost impossible to get yuzu in Ireland!). I've been to Japan. It will ALWAYS be challenging to get the very same tastes outside of Japan 😃, but I really enjoyed both of these dishes, and they were very much what i would expect of the "classic/simple" Japanese flavours. Of the other dishes we tried, I really liked the starters of: pork, warm oyster special, scallops, and tempura mushroom. I am generally not as much a fan of Don/Donburi, so those will never be as high on my list! We shared the 2 deserts, everyone enjoyed them. I will be back!

The food is good, it is the same than the takeaway but way more expensive. I was expecting an extra price for the location and the comfort to eat at the table, but I think the prices do not match with what is offered. I like the food but I will keep going to the takeaway

Have been lucky to have eating here twice over the past year,
Both times have been amazing and my father who’s a fussy eater loves the place to.
And extremely good value for money to

My girlfriend and I visited Ichigo Ichie last night to celebrate our ninth anniversary. We mentioned during the booking that it was a special occasion, but unfortunately, nothing was done to acknowledge it, which was a little disappointing.
We had high expectations given the restaurant’s excellent reputation, but the experience didn’t quite live up to them. While my scallop starter was truly exceptional and beautifully cooked, the rest of the dishes felt a bit underwhelming — good, but not as memorable as we had hoped.
We also found that much of the menu leaned towards fried options, which wasn’t quite what we were expecting, and the rice in my girlfriend’s dish was slightly overcooked.
Overall, it was still a pleasant evening, but we left feeling a little disappointed considering how much we were looking forward to trying the chef’s cuisine. Hopefully, it was just an off night, as we really wanted to love the experience.

Too bad we missed the Michelin era of this restaurant, but in its current incarnation it still is undoubtedly one of the best Japanese restaurants in Ireland. I'm not a big cold soba fan normally, but now I'm a convert. The duck was sublime, and the cherry on top was a beautiful matcha panna cotta to finish the dinner. We will come back to Cork, specifically for this restaurant.
This is in my top 3 Japanese restaurants in Ireland, in league with Matsukawa in Dublin and Wa Sushi in Galway.

I’ve heard so much about this restaurant so wanted to try it for myself.
Let’s just say it was everything and more than what I expected.
Warm welcome, extensive menu and amazing dishes. I had the Onigiri and the Rib Eye steak which was probably one the best steaks I’ve ever had, so flavourful.
The cheesecake was the perfect ending for a delicious meal. Keep it up guys!
